I was picked in the lottery!!!

O M G, I am soooo happy right now! Out of 585 applications, my name came up in the first 100, which means I should get into Spring 2014 at CCSF (they pick 50 for fall; 50 for spring). Nothing's set in stone until I get the official letter, but I'm still going to celebrate!!!

I am in the process of completing more prerequisites because I was planning on applying for MSN programs for non-nursing majors. I decided to apply to the CCSF ADN program because they required pretty minimum amount of prerequisites which I had already and I live nearby. So, if I am accepted, I am going! I'd rather go for the ADN and start sooner, rather than wait around for when I can apply and hopefully get into MSN programs. I'll do a bridge program later.

Thats great! did you apply already or where you going to apply this Fall? Well lets hope we hear soon :nailbiting: I have been waiting a while to, but its well worth the wait and there are always sick people

I might not be going to CCSF after all. I got my acceptance letter for the waitlist at NVC. It's much closer to me than SF, so I'm leaning toward that one, even though I might not start until Fall 2014. I've been on this journey of first just trying to get into nursing pre-reqs (impacted) and then finally taking them one at a time since the fall of 2009, so I've learned the virtue of patience in this process. Being on the waitlist could be an asset because it allows me to save more money to possibly be able to not work for my first semester. I've got a lot to think about now, but I can't tell you how good it feels to have choices. Whew :D

Well CONGRATS to YOU! :) If you choose not to go to CCSF that opens up a spot! Where is NVC? After a long road im sure that feels good, I am in the same boat being so close to getting in it is bittersweet (more sweet) !

I was planning on submitting applications to MSN programs starting Fall 2013, so even if I got directly into an MSN program I wouldn't start until probably Fall 2014 anyway. So, if I get into the CCSF ADN program for Fall 2013 or Spring 2014, I'd just go for it. And if I get in, I'll hold off on the MSN at least until I find a job, then pursue a bridge program.

Anyway, I spoke with the CCSF nursing department this morning, and she pretty much just told me the same thing she told you.

They are reviewing 300 applications. And she said my chances are very good, considering my number is in the 120s. And she gave me a little 'nod', so I'm taking it as a good sign! And I asked her if I should be worried about taking my TEAS V, but she said for me to wait until I get my letter, and that they will give me time to take it. She also told me they are "hoping" to get letters out by April, but that they don't really know for sure.

I also noticed that she had the lottery list right in front of her. Seems like she and the other guy in the office were working on reviewing applications right now.

Well, I thought talking to them would calm my nerves, but I don't think it helped too much! LOL Now to play the waiting game...............

oh geeeze! they just will not spill the beans for anyone! this waiting game is not funnnn, i should take up a hobby! Does anyone know the TEAS score you need to have? I saw from 2011 is was 62% and it had be on the first attempt, is that still true?

I think I read somewhere on their website it has to be a 67%. I was looking for where it specifically says it but I can't find it anymore.

I sure hope letters go out in April like they said. In the meantime I'm going to practice the TEAS V I guess.

I think that was for Version IV when it had to be 67%. im not positive though.

NVC is Napa Valley College. Another plus about NVC is that they have a partnership with Sonoma State University which allows you to begin your BSN classes after your first semester of the ADN program. I'm still waiting for the acceptance letter from CCSF, so I don't know what my timeframe is for knowing which program I will go to. Being able to start in January 2014, or even this August if enough people don't use their spot, would be so great. I don't know that I could wait until late next year...agghhh...I'm so ready to start nursing school!

Omg I am going insane waiting!

Anyone else out there apply for CCSF?

Hey guys I've been searching online to find out how they split up the fall and spring semester and came across this chat. I was in the 80's for this 2013-14 nursing lottery for CCSF does that mean I would be starting spring 2014?
