Seriously. Why do you need to go to the nurse the second you get off the darn bus?!? You haven't even been to your locker yet! TGIF.
Yep. Dealt with this yesterday. Be a parent and make a determination if your child is too sick to stay home. This kid's problem was possible pink eye. I explained to the parents that I do not have the authority to diagnose. He went home because he couldn't even open his eye. But now he's back today.
I think your space bar went on strike.....
Edit: Ha! Look at that....now I can read it!
Or the one who comes in complaining literally as soon as she walks in the door saying, "I don't feel good. My mom's waiting in the parking lot."
Wow. I do a few kids with a lot of other things going that the parents struggle with said student to get them through the door each day. But those parents and I work together, usually they email me or call me to let me know it is bad day and that if their kid is my office at 8:05, they want that student to stay. (It is actually great to tell a student "I've already talked with your mom/dad today and we agreed you can made it through the day today.")
As for the parent that actually tells their kid they are waiting in the parking lot...why would one do this? Do they need the nurse to say "yep they are sick" for the excused absence? Because if they aren't sick, they are not getting an excused absence from me.
