I Passed the NCLEX

Published

After what seemed like a series of anginas, from the time I took the faster than lightning exam to the quickresults... I can finally say..I passed the NCLEX!!! Computer stopped at 75 with 5 hours remaining. I finished Saunders Compre 3rd ed. and practiced answering qxs (Kaplan,Lippincott, ncsbn) only with the extra time left. Thanks for the support of all the people here, especially the ever-so-patient Suzanne!:icon_hug:

You must apply for licensure to a state Board of Nursing. Each has their own timeframe and much is based on if they do their own credential evaluation or use the CES.

Some, such as NY, are actually more in the 8 month range. You do not pick a state by which is the fastest, as if you are not going to work there, you can waste much money and time trying to endorse to the new state. Always better to start with where you would like to work.

Please take the time to do some reading here. There is already much on this same topic. And I highly recommend the Primer that is located at the top of the International Forum.

congratulations.. i just would like to ask you something.. is CGFNS required before taking the NCLEX?? or even the NLE here in PI?? the state that i want doesnt require CGFNS but is ir required for me to pass first the NLE? thanks..

if you are to take the cgfns you need to pass the nle first.

nle and cgfns is not needed for you to take the nclex.

gudluck and God bless....

hey aquarian, congratulations!!! your hard work has finally paid off. as for me, i wish to take cg 1st although its not a requirement in the state where i wish to apply for nclex.

im honestly confused, whether i should go for clinical training 1st or finish all the exams. employment here in pinas is very hard, and scarce at the same time. help me pls. which one should i do 1st, i already passed toefl ibt

another thing, do have any suggestion on which review material should i use?? pleaseeeeeeee thank u

thanks for the note. for myself, i chose to do away with the exams first, then applied in a good training hospital. reserve at least 2-3 months for nclex review. since you already have your toefl ibt result, it might be wise to pass the other exams as well. the only drawback here is that some of the major hospitals in pi are not accepting nclex-passers anymore.

i just used saunders comprehensive nclex review book.

god bless you!

oh yeah??? hmmmm i think ur right. i think it would be best if i finish all the exams first.. so i could focus on goal at a time. my sis is already there workin as a nurse in illinois, and she told me that she can help me find an employer, all i have to do is take cg, get visa and thats it. then take nclex when i get there.

hey i really appreciate u replying back, its nice to have lotsa inputs from pple here. thank u

good day...

may i ask where u took the toefl ibt...

it's not offered in the philippines yet, right? (or not?)

all the review centers here are focusing more on ielts can't find anyone who specialize in toefl..

or the ielts and toefl review just the same?

thank you...

god bless....

mhae,

if you're going to apply in IL, you dont need to take CG exam anymore. they just need the CES. then you can take the nclex.

Good luck to you.

hey mash, uhmm i took toefl ibt at ateneo prof center in makati. yeah most review centers are focusing on ielts, and if they do.. it is quite expensive. i applied online (which is easier) just check the website www.toefl.com and ul get all the info that u need. from there u can choose where u would like to take the exam (here in the phils), just click the appropriate buttons. they also have a free practice test there once u register with them. u can also find other free toefl ibt practice tests online like kaplan or other english sites, just search for it.

since most review centers are offering ielts review, i opted for self review instead. ielts and toefl both test ur mastery of english, but administered quite differently. for one thing toefl tests ur comprehension in all parts. ud be reading and listening to an audio then followed by a set of questions about it, based on how u understood it. in the speaking part,ud still be hearing a conversation and be reading a passage, then u would be asked to intergrate the two..the thing is u would be speaking with ur headset on, so eveything u say would be recorded. ur only given 15secs to prepare and a minute to speak. in the writing part, ud be asked to make an essay of about 250-300 max of words, then ud type it using ur keyboard..it would be of ur advantage if u can type at a good speed so u would still have time to compose ur thoughts and edit it.so reviewing ielts for toefl wont do u much good.

they said that toefl is quite difficult as that of the ielts exam. i suggest u take a hold of Barron's How to prepare For Toefl IBt book (u can buy one along morayta), the original is way too expensive but in morayta u can get it for php800. it has 10 audio CDs, and several practice tests. the key to stack the exam is to practice practice practice!!! so u would get used to it how it is given. and when u speak, make it loud and clear, be confident.

i only had a week to really finish the whole book, and work on it.. i got a score of a 100/120 with speaking of 28/30, writing of 28/30. im not here to brag abt it,i just wnt to encourage u that u dont really need a review center to make it. u just have to focus, and master it.. the book helped me a lot. and hey if i made it, im sure u will too...

"bring it on!!"
