I passed - NCLEX-RN

Published

First try and 75 questions! I feel like I didn't get any right. Soooo many SATA! And add another one to the PearsonVue Loophole. I tried it immediately when I got home yesterday and got the good pop-up. Today my name shows on my BON website!

My advice is lots and lots and lots of questions. I did poorly on my University's predictor of passing the NCLEX (aka, I had a marginal chance of passing if I did nothing to prepare for the NCLEX),

I did do Kaplan Online. I loved their questions, and their lectures were informative. But I probably would have passed without it. In fact, I didn't watch all their lectures.

I used two sets of flashcards. And I used Saunder's Q&A. Oh, and I did NCLEX 3500 every day! http://nursing.slcc.edu/nclexrn3500/mainMenu.do;jsessionid=B033D8AC5E130549116DEC9B8C2DF160

So, good luck to everyone waiting to test, waiting to retest, and waiting to find out! :redbeathe

If you have any questions, I'm more than happy to answer!

congratulations, :dancgrp::dancgrp:so basically, would you recommend kaplan or saunders. kaplan questions, are they closer to the real nclex.

What type of questions did you get? Infection control, meds, etc?

Thank you!

I really liked the Kaplan questions a lot. I think they are a higher quality question than the Saunders book. At the same time, I don't think they're worth the cost of the course unless you want a material review too.

I did not use the Kaplan decision tree during my test though.

I wouldn't change anything I did to prepare because I felt the cost was worth the piece of mind for me, even though I feel like I would have passed without the Kaplan course.

I did like the rationales in the Saunders book too. Having used multiple sources though, it's hard to say that it's any better than any other text.

I got a lot of SATA. Probably every 3rd to 4th question. I think a lot of those were experimental questions. Just based on shear number.

I only had about 3 math questions. A lot of priority questions, and slightly less delegation. About 5-7 meds, with 2-3 being essentially, "What med is this?" which of course, I didn't know!

Other than that, it's really such a blur that I have a hard time recalling anything. Part of their rules is that you're not allowed to share questions after you take the test. I laugh because I honestly couldn't tell you a single question that I had. I can't even remember if I had any based on OB at all!

Hope that helps.
