On my way home from work today, I stopped at Rite-Aid. The cashier took one look at my scrubs and asked, "What do you do in the health care field?" I said I was a school nurse and, without missing a beat, she replied, "Thank you for your service. You are appreciated. You do a wonderful job!"
I was stunned. This woman doesn't know me, I've never seen her before but she brightened my day with her kind, sincere words. It was just what I needed to hear

Nice!!! I'm sure she has lots of conversations with nurses over the course of the school year. OR has kids in a different system. What a nice thing to brighten up your day!

I was preparing myself for the ubiquitous - Oh, then you aren't a real nurse. Such a pleasant surprise.

Tell me what beautiful planet on earth you are from I'd move there in a heart beat.
Back here in Metropolis, I get charge "double" for a Fruuking donut. Our Donut Peeps here think that we are Super Heros, that I am Superman and my partner is Wonder Woman just because we save the world and what is annoyingly worse is that they think we make MUCHO Dinero --- well, fine, we do
But that's not the point.... the issue here is, I don't get appreciated by this Walgreen or Rite-Aid or SuperWalmart peeps. Heck, even when I visit Salvation Army I don't get one either!!!!
