the good ol' nclex

im new to this site so i may not be posting this in the right site so I apologize in advance if I am! I just took the NCLEX today and I am having a huge panic attack! I wasn't the strongest student in my undergrad nursing program and got like 60s on my practice tests I took before the nclex. Well....today when I started taking the test, aound question 20 I realized I hadn't known any of the answers yet and it just kept getting worse. I got to question 70 and I sware I didn't answer anything right. at question 75 it kept going and then cut off at 78. What was the point of those 3 questions? Was the computer like- yep those last three just proved she's not good enough or what?!?!?! Does anyone have a similar experience (hopefully a positive one!) I'm going outta my mind!! :uhoh3:

I tested yesterday and waiting is the worst...Mine shut off after 75...but there were only a couple on answers I was absolutely sure of. The odds are in our favor....hoping for the best. Let me know when you find out!

Most people, including myself walk away from there saying "What was THAT??". And, most do better than we think. I hope the same for you!

OK, the most important thing to realize here, those who have taken the NCLEX and think maybe you did poorly is, there is nothing to do right now about it except to chill a bit. Hard as that may seem.

The next thing to do is realize the worst thing that could happen is you take the thing over again. The next time you will have had some experience, and some things that were new to you (like the format, using the computer, etc.) are not new anymore. That can help.

If you really feel you did badly, take a look at some of your review books. There is no time like the present to start reviewing so that when the time comes that you can take it again, you will have had a good start on your prep.

And above all, be kind to yourselves. Just getting to the point where you can take the exam means you have accomplished something important. You graduated from nursing school!!!

And the odds are, you passed anyway.... Good luck, everybody!
