i was just promoted to a leadership role, it used to be called just "admit, discharge and transfer nurse" but since I have taken role they have made it into leadership. I do all of those things but I am also in charge of patient satisfaction, quality control, being a charge when not fixing problems or admitting discharging or transferring patients, patient complaints ect.
I need a better position name, more leadership like. Patient quality coordinator? Which I don't even know if that makes sense. Please give me your ideas on names.
Specializes in ED, ICU, MS/MT, PCU, CM, House Sup, Frontline mgr.
Charge Nurse. Everything you described is what Charge Nurses (who work in a non-union capacity) will do. If you are not ever a Charge Nurse (work directly with patient care), then I agree that you are a Quality/Patient Experience Coordinator.....
Specializes in Nurse Leader specializing in Labor & Delivery.
The nurse on our unit who is the charge nurse + (she does all the schedules and is a de facto leader of the unit in addition to being charge) I call my clinical coordinator, even though her actual title is "RN" (we don't have permanent charge roles at our facility)
A hospital near me has a position called Manager of Patient Experience. This person mostly dealt with the Press-Ganey numbers and training the staff on how to raise them but it sounds like something that could also be applied to your job.
