I need a hug...

Published

Ok, so this is not entirely completely related to nursing school, but it sort of is...basically I just need to vent...

I just got my rejection letter from the one college I applied to, and it was a nice letter and I wasn't surprised (don't have all the pre-nursing classes done yet), so I've been trying to plug away and get the rest of my prereqs done so I can apply again next year...

I signed up to take Micro this summer (2pm to 7pm two days a week for 8 weeks), but my work just told me they can't let me take that time off after all. I would only be leaving early for 2 dang days a week for 8 dang weeks, but no...:angryfire

So I'm going to take A&P II instead (it's offered later in the day), but the Micro class that's offered in the fall is at an even worse time than the one offered in the summer. So I probably won't be able to take it then either.:banghead: And I need to have it done so I can submit all my applications this coming spring for programs starting Fall 09. So basically I may be up the creek without a paddle if you will.

Aannnnd to top it all off, my hubby lost his job last week, so we're panicking about health insurance and rent and the like...I just want to sit down and cry.:crying2:

I'm sorry for the rant, I'm just so upset. I need a hug.

It seems like anything that you REALLY REALLY want

Honey let go and let god. A way will be made out of no way! just remember that! When i was in nursing school all my bills were behind, stayed that way until i graduated. This is a test, because while in school you will have to give up working full time.(if not then you will not pass your nursing classes). You may need to change work areas yourself to fit your needs for school. Are you a CNA? if so you can always work 12 hour shifts on the weekends and maybe pick up one shift during the week. I know that may not be an option right now since your husband just lost his job, but it's worth a try. Also you could go to your school's guidance office and request info on grant money in your state for students who are having financial hardships. Good luck.:wink2:

I am so sorry! Have yo thought about a different job that might be more flexible? Look into jobs with the college!

I'm definitely looking for another job...this has been the straw that broke the camel's back. I am considering getting certified as a CNA, it would be great experience and be flexible with school. I hadn't thought about trying to get a job with my college, that's a really great idea!

Sending a big hug your way. I hope it all works out for you. You are strong and you can do this. Problem solving is going to be very important skill in nursing school. I worked full time and got through pre reqs and yes, there were moments when I was pulling out my hair and cramming down the chocolate brownies, but I survived and I am in nursing school now. Give yourself lots of pats for getting this far and keep telling yourself that this will get you where you want to be.

I am sending well wishes your way.

Regards,

Jean

I told you that you would be able to do it!!!

Some times in our life, when we are in a huge hole a angel comes flying by to help us!!! as long as we are doing our part all will be ok!

^^

I can completely relate to you and i know how hard it is to be stressed out about getting in2 nursing school and having additional stressors in your life as well. I'm a single mother of a 1 1/2 year old and having to deal with the whole nursing school thing as well as work a full time job and be both mommie and daddy to my daughter is very challenging but i know that in the end it will all be worth it so u and your hubby keep God 1st, hang in there and everything is gonna be alright!!!!!

BTW i said a prayer f4 u b4 i wrote this! Take care!

i do not want to sound trite or get on your nerves any more but ..if god did not think you could handle this, he would not give it to you. if you stay the course, then when you do make it, you can write to a thread like this one and give someone else who may be where you are now, some encouragement. if you have gone this far, keep going, and if you get to the end of your rope, tie a knot and hang on.:loveya:

Thank you so much guys, I really needed to hear the encouragement! I will keep ya'll in my thoughts and prayers too!

I'm going today at lunch to get my tetorifice and varicella vaccines so I can send over my Cert. of Immunization today! Hopefully my registration hold will be taken off this afternoon and I can register for micro tomorrow. I have never been so excited to get a shot in my whole life!:chuckle
