I need help--either NCLEX tutor or a nursing school review!

Nursing Students NCLEX

I graduated from nursing school in December of 2012. I have taken the test 1 time and failed. I have taken the self-guided online Kaplan review course and a review course that my college required. I am a visual learner. I HATE READING! I have comprehension problems. So, my issue is that I feel like I've lost all of my knowledge from school. I don't know what to do to pass this test. I feel like I need a private tutor or a nursing school review--not only a class to teach me how to take the test. The Kaplan review failed me because I didnt dedicate the time to it. I've wasted so much money trying to find what will work for me. Any suggestions?!

LOOKING FOR SCHOOL REVIEWS?

Have difficulty deciding which nursing school to attend? Trust your peers. See what they have to say. Do they recommend the school? How was their experience? What do they think of the instructors? Is the school affordable? This is what you will find at Best Nursing Universities and Colleges | Peer Reviews directory.

You could try the Hurst Review. They have videos you can watch and audio that you can listen to. Many people on AN have said that after being out of school for a while it was effective for them.

It's easy to understand and it doesn't put you to sleep. You need to dedicate time to it however, in order for it to be helpful.

Good Luck.

It seems you need a content review, basically like you mentioned. My school used the Don Anderson content review based out of Massachusetts, not sure where you're from but just search google for NCLEX content review and you'll find something! Also while NCLEX is starting to use more and more visuals throughout the test, unfortunately it is still largely reading and comprehension. Did you learn the Kaplan Decision Tree during your initial review? Possibly using a method as such to answer questions might help you in taking some of the comprehension side out of it.

Yes, I did learn the decision tree and will try to utilize it again. It didnt really make much sense to me before but Ill try it again. Thanks for the input!!!

where are you located? There is this great comphrensive review class in Artesia, CA that is great for learning content. I went to review there and the lectures were very helpful in learning the content. I learned more there than in nursing school.

I'm in the same situation... perhaps we can work together? would you be interested?
