hey... have you heard anything yet regarding the paperwork/hiring process?

So, I've been a nurse for a year now. I graduated back in 2013, but wasn't able to obtain my license until July 2014. Like most people, I'm having a difficult time landing that hospital job. I graduated with my BSN. I currently work at a medical spa performing laser hair removal, as i needed a job to start paying off my student loans. Ive been working here for about 6 months and still actively looking for a hospital job, but nothing seems to budge. I'm starting to feel discouraged that i'll never get that acute care experience. Any advice? Btw I live in California..... Help a gal out please!!!!!

hi. I've graduated in may 2013 with my BSN and only until July 2014 I was able to take my NCLEX and passed the boards. It took my awhile to take the nclex due to certain family/personal issues. I'm relieved that all that is behind me but now my struggle is finding a job. I live in california and its been very competitive. Can I still continue to apply to new grad programs? or should i give up on that and try something else. Its becoming very frustrating. I've sent out a ton of applications but nothing. Any advice would help. Thank you in advance! :)

It took about 4 weeks for them to cash my check. I suggest that while you wait you should get your study plan going so as soon as you get the green light you can take the test. Don't wait until the check is cashed. Just get going so that you are able to review as much as you can and really feel prepared.

I reapplied in late march. They cashed my check in late April. And I got my ATT soon after. And I retook the exam in July. It's not that long. I am in California. So I'm not sure for other states how long the process could be. That's my experience. As far as study material. I didn't take any review course like Kaplan. I did buy the strategize book of Kaplan. Just to help with test taking strategies. I also used Saunders for content review. And I did the entire book of lacharity which really helped me withprioritizations. And the lippincott book full of alternative questions. And lastly since I didn't have any qbanks like Kaplan I used nclex 4000 and prep-u 10,000 which helped me a lot. I know it's a lot of material but if you use them wisely you can succeed just like I did. Feel free to let me know if you have anymore questions. :)

Also in the mean time while you are waiting for everything to process just keep studying as if your test is nearing. So that once you receive your ATT you can schedule a day to take the exam and then you'll be ready. Good luck.

Hi from my experience. I sent in my reapplication form and waited a few weeks for them to cash my check. As soon as they cashed my check I waited another week to register at Pearson vue. And as soon as I registered at Pearson within maybe 5 hours I received my ATT in my email.

where are you located? There is this great comphrensive review class in Artesia, CA that is great for learning content. I went to review there and the lectures were very helpful in learning the content. I learned more there than in nursing school.

hi charlique, i was just wondering did you take the unlimited course or the 7 days course at AHEC? im interested in enrolling. how helpful was the course?

Hi. I'm in a similar boat as you. i'm attempting once again to take the exam for the 3rd time. I too have felt and sometimes continue to feel discouraged cause i always feel like i'm coming up short. I'm also using the prep-u 10,000. how do you feel about this resource? just wondering your thoughts on it. Hang in there. And just try not to give up. keep pushing through as i know both of us can get through this. Have faith in yourself!

Hello. i'm currently studying again to re-take my NCLEX-RN exam again. this will be the 3rd time i'm sitting in for this exam. I'm very nervous once again about taking this exam and have sort of felt discouraged since i've become unsuccessful in passing the exam the past two time. I am currently studying using Saunders, Nclex 4000, and Prep-U. I'm not sure if this is enough to help me become successful in passing it this time around. Can anyone offer me advice and tips towards passing this exam. Thank you in advance.
