I Made It!!

Yeah me! i got my acceptence letter last week and have been busy getting all the financial aide and shots and everything on the home front lined up. I'm in the full time program for 1 year and it starts July 9th(my granny's b-day!), i have tried for 2 years and i finally did it. The only question i have right now is about my shot records. I found what I could, I went to the Dr.'s office and since it was before the computer times, how do I get my full records? My mom can't seem to find them and i don't have them, what do I do?

Other than that, I have a 4 year old and a 2 year old and i'm filing for daycare assistance while i'm in class and could possibly be getting some other financial assistance to help with the year that i'm not going to work while in school. It will be hard, but it will make it that much sweeter when it's time for graduation.

I will be back soon.......

If your Dr's office can pull up the archives they can just issue you a new shot record (sometimes) I didn't have my shot record when I immigrated here (because my mother lost it) so I had to have the shots done again bc stupid INS wouldn't accept blood titers.

Your school does not accept titers, that stinks!!!! My Community College accepts titers which is a good thing because I have no idea where my immunization shot record is at!!!! I had it at one time & then I lost it duh!!!! hopefully I will not need all of the shots maybe just a few!!!!

:ancong!::weathersunsmall::stdnrsrck::cheers:!!!!

This was the immigration service that wouldn't accept titers not the school.

Shots...Oh Lord don't remind me..Any hoot...C-O-N-G-R-A-T-U-L-A-T-I-O-N-S!!!

Be glad that your school take immuization records I had my immunization records and they wouldn't take them I had to have titers.

Congrats on getting in!

I contacted the health dept. about my immunization record. Someone there told me that if I contact the school that I attended, they would have records (you were required by law to have many of the immunizations if you wanted to "get into" kindergarten!). I was told to contact my elementary school! I did, and they guided me to my high school. Sure enough, they were able to send my records! And, I'm 30, so there was a time-frame involved!

Thank you Thank you:bowingpur:bowingpurI never thought to do that because I had to get all the required immunizations to start kindergraten so tomorrow I am going to call my elementary school & go from there hopefully they have or my high school has my immunization record & I am able to use it!!!! wish me luck:cheers:!!!! Thanks again so very much!!!! I hope this works:caduceus:!!!!

Well it worked I just got off the phone with my high school & they said to bring my I.D. and they will make a copy of my shot record!!!! How awesome!!!! I really, really, really, hope that my Community College will accept that so I can save some money & avoid needles!!!!LOL!!!! Thanks again so very much amjowens!!!! wish me lots of luck!!!!

Good for you I hope it works!! My school is crazy they would not take immunization records we had to have titers, which I could understand if it had been a while but for people like myself who have had immunizations as an adult it was fusrating and very expensive for all the blood work they required. So I hope it works out for you!!

I know people are going to say its a good thing they required titers but not when you have to pay for them and lots of insurances don't cover them.
