Hello All!
I am graduating in May with my BSN. Woohoo! I am excited to start working as a nurse. I have been looking around and something that has caught my eye are nurse residency programs. My goal is critical care, I love all the knowledge you would gain in this area. In fact my last clinical was (we called it our preceptor) on a CCU. I absolutely loved it.
Now on to my main question. I have looked and looked and looked, there are lots of programs out there but I know I am missing the majority of them. If your hospital has a program like this would you do me a big favor and list your hospital, or a link to its website and I will take it from there. Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks!

I don't think you're going to get a lot of responses since many folks may wish to keep their workplaces off the board.

Its not my place of employment but the Legacy Health System started a new grad residency program in Oregon this past year. Check the Oregon forums, I know there might have been discussions there or in the grad forum. Very tough competition though, like 500 applicants for like 50? spots.
My place of employment did also open up a critical care residency for new or experienced RN's. 2 positions. Good grief what are the chances with those odds. Good luck.

I would contact local hospitals or hospitals in the area you want to live and ask if they hire new grads in to specialty units and if so, what the training consists of. My hospital doesn't have a residency program, but they do hire selectively in to specialty units and you have an extended orientation as a new grad.

I would look at the hospital websites in your area. I have looked at several and they advertise them there.
Good Luck!
