So I was going to Chabot in Hayward, ca until this last semester. I finished my GE and all I had left were pre-req's. I had finished bio and chem and decided that Ohlone in Fremont had a better program. Well, at Chabot I had been ready for anatomy, but at ohlone biochemistry was required first. So I went to ohlone and figured in the long run it would be worth it for the better program. Now it turns out that they rarely have anatomy or microbiology night classes and I'm going to have to return to Chabot. I could have started anatomy this past semester! Eesh. I'm tired of being a pre- pre- nursing student. I pretty much lost a semester but to look on the bright side of things, I really understand chemistry better now and not to mention... as of next semester I will be a pre nursing student! Instead of a preprenursing student. So bitersweet...

Sometimes we make these mistakes when there is no one to clue us in to what to do instead. Don't fret. At least you see some good coming from this. Good luck in your continued studies.
Yeah. I am pretty excited about finally being in Anatomy. Only 2 more semesters left of pre-reqs, hopefully! Then I can finally apply to the program. Everytime someone asks how long I have left I tell them forever since you never know how long you could be waiting to get in. And another bright side is that my sister is going to be in the class with me. Yay!

I'm at Chabot right now, and Las Positas, and DVC.. (lol)
It doesn't matter where you take your pre-requisites. You can still apply to both programs, if you didn't already know that.
Ms. Lange at Chabot has a hybrid anatomy class that I am in, it meets every other Wed. night, it's really great and convenient. I recommend it.
Haha... thats funny. I just tried applying for that class a few hours ago but it was already full. :hdvwl: It looked like it would be nice. But I got into a different class Tuesday and Thursday nights. Have you taken Microbiology yet? I'm taking the one on monday and wednesday nights for spring. I really have no idea what its going to be about other than little things under microscopes. I think I'll just stick to Chabot until I'm done with pre-req's. They seem to be more night class friendly there. And how was anatomy? I heard that anatomy & physi is difficult, but I was curious if anatomy was a little easier since its by itself.
In my opinion, Anatomy is harder than A&PI because you have to learn the entire body in one semester. A&P splits the entire body into two semesters, and everything you learn goes along with everything else. Anatomy has been pretty difficult so far, the highest grade on our 1st test was an 89 and the class average was a 52 (lol).. the second test, class average was a 71. I have a B right now and I've been working pretty hard. I don't know if anyone in the class has an A. My teacher said that the majority of people who end up with A's in anatomy only get them because of a curve. It's just sooooo much information, but it's interesting at the same time.
I'm taking Micro next semester, a T/TH night class with Michelitsch. I'm also taking Physio but at LPC. Woooooo.
Wow. Sounds difficult. I don't know how I'm going to do Anatomy and Micro in one semester, but I just don't want to waste any more time. I've been in college 2 1/2 years now, and finished my GE before deciding what to do. So now I just want to get pre-req's over with. Guess I'll start reading the texts as soon as I get them. Thanks for your help! And good luck with phys and micro next semester:up:
Thanks, good luck to you too :) I work full time and spend every lunch break studying... lol
This will be 2 1/2 yrs of college for me too, and I'm sooo antsy to just get all this pre-nursing stuff over with. I wish I had known I wanted to do nursing when I started.
lol me too. how much easier it would have been. I actually took astronomy for my science class for my GE cuz I figured that was the lesser of the evils. Little did I know that I would be taking tons of science classes that would have covered that.

I took astronomy last semester too, and I'm glad I did because the chemistry I'm taking (chem for allied health sciences) that is required for most CSU programs doesnt cover the "physical science" requirement on the CSU GE transfer curriulum, and all the other pre-nursing sciences are biological sciences. It was probably the easiest science I have ever, and will ever take.

I'm in A&P I now, and your chemistry knowledge will be extremely helpful as the first 1/3 of the class is chemistry! Having no science background whatsoever, I found it very difficult to catch on at first...but, finally I got it...AND, I have a 93 average in the class now. An A is very possible for anyone!
lol I agree with you on the easiest part. Got an A in it so I guess it helped GPA wise. I think you are right though, I am pretty sure that is part of the physical science.
