I just failed my NCLEX...

Published

I graduated May 11 2019.. took my NCLEX on the 18 of June. I had a lot going on at the time but I thought I was prepared. I did use UWorld, and some of Kaplan. I really need a good study strategy . I am not sure if I am understanding the question or maybe not understanding content well enough. I am so down. I just registered back at Pearson but don’t know what happens next . I can’t get out of my head. All my friends are passing and I feel so awful that I failed.

You will make it my sister, wish I could be your study partner I sit in August two month from now .

I just took it June 19, and passed.

I used UWorld and the mark klimek audio lectures. I studied for 2 weeks, about 2 hours a day. I did all of the UWorld questions available, read through the rationales for the ones I missed.

I took notes on the Mark klimek audio lectures and made quizlet decks for each lecture. I flipped through each quizlet deck 1x a day for 2 weeks prior.

I HIGHLY HIGHLY RECCOMEND the Mark Klimek audio lectures.

I commend you all using different options because I only used Kaplan qbank, I didn't have the energy to do otherwise. You all have some serious determination , audio cds, dvds, Hurst, werst, browns, johns nclex review. ? I did hit the bank questions hard though.

Please send me your email

Congrats New RN on the block,

Could send me the audio,

[email protected] is my email,

Plus advise best approach to read in two months, besides working 5days a week, bought Uworld for 3month,

Am only able to do 35 questions a day btn work,am scared but will go give it a shot.

Thanks

I was as surprised as the dean of my nursing school who administered HESI. My prereqs scored great. Nursing curriculum, not so much... HESI 99.99999% in my opinion the difference was I carried a good old-fashioned NCLEX book of questions everywhere. If I had to see something on TV, I answered NCLEX questions on the commercials. I tore pages out and challenged questions standing in line at the grocery, while my kids did their homework, on breaks at work. I understood how to navigate the question style well - which can be very different from your school's question style. Passing score 75. I encourage you to study whatever you need to brush up on in the NCLEX style, like if you need to learn more about diabetes, study the diabetic section of NCLEX questions. Good luck.

I just passed the NCLEX a week ago and only used Uworld and the HESI NCLEX books. I would suggest lightly going over content on your weaker topics (not sure is Kaplan has a book for it) and then doing Uworld questions and writing down the rationales you are not 100% confident about. This worked for me with cardiac. After reviewing my weak areas, I did 75 questions a day when I had to work (a mix of everything) and 150 questions on my days off. I read every single rationale and wrote down down the the rationales for the questions I wasn't sure about or answered correctly by chance. I completed the entire test bank. I also found an online guide for all of the medications featured of Uworld, it was about $5 and extremely helpful.

I also used this to help with prioritization questions https://anchor.fm/pocket-nurse

Hope this helps!

Hi Utopia, I commented here a few days ago about what resources to use. Now I can comment from my experience because I took my Nclex exam yesterday and got an email this morning from my BON that I passed. I started by doing uworld questions, i scored in the 50s for 2 weeks, I knew I needed to review my content. I have the saunders and kaplan books, I looked at them briefly but I couldn't bring myself to read them. So I got the Hurst review videos and book. I watched every single one of their videos. Then I found Mark Klimek and listened to 75% of his audios. During this month of studying I always did a minimum of 75 questions per day. In the last week I did 150 questions divided in 2 blocks. In the last week, my uworld scores increased to 75% I knew I was ready, so I moved my exam back a week. I couldn't handle the stress of waiting anymore plus I start orientation next week for a new job. My exam ended in 75 questions. I didn't take any notes on uworld because I knew I wouldn't read them. I learn best by listening so thats why I watched the Hurst videos and listened to Mark Klimek audios. How do you learn best? I also watched lots of youtube videos by Registered Nurse Rn search her up she has lots of good videos on content. The Nclex is so broad and random that one cant study everything, but these mentioned resources will help for sure. Please don’t spend anymore money on resources. You can find most of these resources online for free. Give yourself 2 months, make sure you do questions every day and read the rationales. You can do this girl. Keep practicing, believe in yourself and you will succeed. Tag me if you have any questions. You will definitely succeed on your next try.
