I got in! I got in! I got in!!!! I got my acceptance letter for one of the colleges I applied for! My mom was so happy she started crying. She called me on my cell to tell me she had opened the letter. When she told me I got in I almost drove off the road... Earlier this week I posted that I got an "I'm sorry Letter" form another college. So this is great I am so excited! I will be in the fall class! I have orientation on the 20th!!!!

Great news! I read your other post about being bummed about FCC. Which program did you get accepted into? I'm currently at COS doing pre-reqs, so I will be applying everywhere one of these days! Best of luck to you!

hey there, pete here 18yr old irish student, studying nursing in galway ireland..you sound very happy, well done on that!!could you help me...i really need to make some connections in the states....my girl friend has to go home to states, bay area(seattle/california???)i really wana study over there...what are the possibilites of that (me being an irish citizen) what roots do i need to follow.....i would really appriciate your help....cheers!:p

Hmm, I don't know much about what you should do. If she is form the bay area I am assuming San Francisco. Your best bet would be to find out where you want to go, find out what schools are in the area, and then visit their websites. Allot of schools have info for international students on their school websites. Other than that I wouldn't know... Sorry I couldn't help ya more... :o

I was thinking it was probably COS you got into. I know someone who is in her first semester there right now. She got accepted on the first try! I am only hoping that will be me next year! Best of luck to you!

Hi there Pete.

My husband just got his permanent resident card after 3 vigorous years with the USCIS (United States Citizenship and Immigration Service). He's Canadian and that was AFTER we married. Nothing dealing with immigration is easy, especially since 9/11/2001 so do not expect it to be. Make sure this girl is worth it. ;)

You will need a student visa if you want to study over here. I am not sure about the waiting period as it is different for each country and each person, really. It's all about numbers and the happenings of 9/11/2001 over here have slowed things down DRASTICALLY. Check out www.USCIS.gov . From what I've read in just a few minutes it looks like you may have to apply to the school that you are interested in and thereafter fill out all the forms via them (http://uscis.gov/graphics/howdoi/academic.htm#outside).

Hey Lunakat is that COS here in Cali (Visalia)? I'm curious because I will be applying next year and I want to know your secret ;) I have a friend who applied twice and was turned away both times. What was your GPA and so forth... if you don't mind me asking. I'm stressed to the max because I don't have time to sit around waiting. I'm already 30 with three kids so I'd like to get things moving. Where else did you apply? I don't know anyone in the program...that makes you my only connection:) Thanks

Are you in Visalia joni? I live here and will be applying to the COS program next fall. Are you taking your pre-reqs at COS right now? I am. I know someone just ending their first semester in the program and she got in on the first try. She said they are going strictly by GPA now for entry. I am very anxious to get going, too, as I'm 34 and have two children. Feel free to PM me if you want to chat!
