Hi,
The agency applied for my petition I-140 on July,2005 (Vermont Center).
Today I recieved an Email saying that my case was approved.
What is the next step, and how long it will take untill I get my green card? please help me.
Thank you
out of curiosity, what paperwork is in packet 3? what do i need to prepare?
It contains the DS-230 forms which you need to fill up. A letter from NVC addressing you, your employer or your agent( Attorney). And the Bar Code sheet. Plus several sheets of paper containing the instruction on how to fill up and other documetns to prepare for the submission.
Huh?I thought they were still processing the March 26,2005.... I'm getting confused because mine was filed last May 2005 and no apporval yet. What is going on with Vermont?
spoke with ogp today and told them about this thread, they swear that the people who have been approved on here cant be waiting for the same visa as myself (greencard) and thats why they have got the i140 sooner!! is this true guys? or are you all waitng for schedule a nurse the same as me? or are ogp fobbing me off?!?
To make it easy on yourself, and you can even print a copy to give to them. Go to www.visapro.com and you can put in any of the centers, there is actually a list posted there. Nebraska is actually going on a September 1st date right now. Vermont is listed a few months earlier, but there are posters here that had got approval in the past week or two thru Vermont and their documents were submitted there in July, 2005.
Another reason to be very careful when selecting an agency. You also want to be able to pick your own attorney as well, as that can make a difference in how quickly things are done for you.
One of my students submitted several months ago, and is still waiting. The other used a different attorney, filed a month or two later, and already has her EAD and SSN# in hand. Make sure that the attorney is familiar with working with nurses.
Congrats for those whose approval are already made...
Anyhow, I would like to address my question to you Suzzanne, you seem to be the one who knows a lot especially on matters like this. I am recently selected by an employer and my choice is Texas. I have just filled out forms like DS230. I am just concerned how long will be the waiting time for me to be there in US. I am not really in a hurry because right now I am still pretty much occupied with a personal project that I have started since January. At least, I will have a timeframe for that and I get to finish this project too before that time arrives. I am also preparing to take NCLEX in Hong Kong, hopefully next year. Hope you can keep me posted. Thanks in advance.

To answer your question, yes they are fobbing you off. I filed September 21 with Texas Service Center, got receipt number a week later September 28, then approved October 4. So, just 3 weeks from filing to approval. I'm Schedule A Nurse, applying for green card, just like yourself. I guess that's Oh God helP us for you, yet again
Have you heard any more about your I-140 lately?

They are not reuqired to give out the number as they are the one that is doing the paying. So in a sense, that information belongs to them, not the nurse.
