I got my flu shot, and I was very brave, and I didn't cry, and the Dr. said when he makes rounds next week he will bring me a sucker. I'm very proud.

Being bitter isn't necessarily bad, if you were bitter. I'm not feeling any animosity or anything! :) I understand your frustration. Why is it that every year there's a horrible vaccine shortage?

I said I am not bitter, but I am frustrated. It is just worrisome that while flu is expected and anticipated each and every year, we can't even get THIS right. Why are we dependent on such a limited number of suppliers?
also, I do worry the implications in future health threats and crises. Lord forbid we were dealing with chemical and /or bio warfare here. I can see how unevenly things are doled out and it does frustrate, not embitter me. I am doing what is left to do; take my vitamins, eat well, sleep well and use scrupulous hygiene. Hope it's enough to keep my son, who has asthma, healthy this winter. He has no access to vaccine, either, at this juncture.
I'm sorry if you misunderstood the bitter comment. I meant it lightheartedly. Anyway, I hope your son stays healthy. I was actually kind of surprised that we got them. I live in the middle of nowhere. And I am SUCH a baby when it comes to shots.

I got mine a two weeks ago on thursday. The came around to the nursing units to give them. Its sad when the only suppliers are foreign companies. Watch how fast the US companies would trip over each other if the federal gov paid for the shots and took any liability for reactions or the shot not working away.

Best of luck, SR
