Hi all,
Today I got my acceptance letter for NCC's nursing program. I'm sooo happy, excited and, of course, a little nervous, but I've waited 1/2 lifetime for this opportunity. Thanks to everyone that gave me encouragement and support along the way at allnurses.
Good luck and best wishes to all those that will apply or that are waiting to hear. Happy Holidays!:redpinkhe:yeah:
The reason you folks need such high GPA's to get in is because the Spring semester is the "off season". They only let a select number of students out of thousands into the program as it is. In the Spring I think about 40-50 students. If you got in then congratulations! Its the first step... GOOD LUCK!!:paw:
For those starting the program next semester - are you buying the skirt or the pant scrubs? And how many are you buying?
Can't answer your question regarding the skirt, but I only plan on buying one set for now, since the uniform isn't exactly cheap.
Plus clinical is only once a week anyways.
actually, on the contrary. there were people waited on the line for med micro, registrar was like what are u people doing on line when u can register through banner (NCC website) so people who were on line from like midnight got on their cell phones to call people at home to register for them.
nice right.
you can stay on line till 3 am if you want, but i would check with registration before making the same mistake.
cue the music ...the more you know.
Yea I took Micro last semester and I just signed into banner at 8am on the first day of registration to enroll. I didnt even know they would let people stand around campus at such a crazy time.
So as a side note I spoke with my Dr about the NCC program and while he said that NCC RNs are very intelligent he said their practical skills are deficient, has anyone heard this. Also, where did everyone buy their textbooks (other than fundamentals)? The books store is just too expensive.
depends on ur instructor - my 101 like 5 our of 29 didnt make it..next semester only one didnt make it but 10 from another class didnt make it.
ncc has a GREAT reputation, thats the first im hearing about skills. has anyone witnessed a doctor start an IV? the pot shouldnt call the kettle deficient in skills lol
i think over time with practice skills will come to you, you only practice what youre exposed to, a lot of my classmates havent done piggybacks in the second semester ...yet we were doing peg meds piggybacks sub Q's in the second. Again, depends on your instructor. If they ask for volunteers when assigning patients with meds, VOLUNTEER!!!!!!!! its a pain in the butt to do all the F records, but its so very worth it. Dont do the bare minimum to get through school, you will only hurt yourself in the long run.
