You'll really have to understand the information in every class you take for nursing school, because you will be held responsible for having a good working knowledge of all the material in your prereqs all the way through (and beyond) graduation. It's not like your buds in the English majors who take the course, pass the exam, sell the books, and move on. You will be expected to apply that knowledge at increasing levels of complexity as you progress through nursing school.
Great start!
Congratulations on your A. But understand you need to really understand the information for all of your nursing classes. Especially classes like micro and A&P. These classes are your foundation needed for nursing school. I just got done with med/surg I and it was very frustrating to our instructors that people didn't understand basic A&P. There were times when all the instructor ended up doing was answering questions about physiology and we never even got to nursing interventions on these diseases. That messed up a lot of people for the tests. I know of several people that didn't pass med/surg I because of that. They couldn't grasp the concepts.

I got an A in microbiology. The class was really hard. I mean there were times I wanted to cry but I kept on pushing my self. The thing about microbiology is that you have to actually understand the information. I even lost my grandmother right before finals week and was afraid of getting a B. But all hard work pays off.
