  1. My job is very flexible with my schedule and I'll be starting Nursing School in August. I wanted to know from people have attended nursing school while working, did you prefer working on weekends and focusing on school on the weekdays, work on the weekdays and focus on school on the weekend,or did you just study late after school on weekdays and just worked any day? I'm trying to decide which one I should do.
  2. In addition to what The Commuter said, it all depends on where you work (as in the actual place you work). For Instance, my cousin is a MA at Kaiser and makes $26/hour (but everyone knows it's hard to get into Kaiser)
  3. Hi! I haven't heard for Los Medanos college yet. I start contra Costa college in August. I'm so excited. I don't think we will hear from Los Medanos until the end of May.
  4. Hi I applied to Los Medanos! I most likely will not go there if I'm accepted, which will give other students a chance. I got recently got into Contra Costa Nursing program and will be attending there. Good luck
  5. I got an A in microbiology. The class was really hard. I mean there were times I wanted to cry but I kept on pushing my self. The thing about microbiology is that you have to actually understand the information. I even lost my grandmother right before finals week and was afraid of getting a B. But all hard work pays off.
  6. Study for finals and find out your grandmother passed away before you start studying for them. The hardest thing was trying to study for them and passing at the same time. My heart was so broken and eyes full of tears. But then I thought, my grandmother would not want me to fail any final because of her death. So, I pushed myself harder then I ever have. Sometimes I would sit and cry and study at the same time. This semester was a roller coaster. My microbiology class was so hard. I disliked it at first but as the semester went by I really liked it. I really liked that it was tough because it challenged me. I also took pharmacology (which I really enjoyed) and nutrition at the same time. I had to learn how to be a mom all at the same time while (had a baby in February 2014) working full time but im glad I did it. I felt like these things made me a stronger person. When your a mom, I learned you don't give up. When things get tough, the best thing you can do for yourself is to keep going. Now my pre-req`s are all done.
  7. I just wanted to congratulate you on pulling off mostly As. Great job! If there is a will, there is a way. I have no worries that this problem will work out when it's suppose to. Goodluck
  8. Is the online test the same as the ones in the back of the ati study mannual?
  9. How many of you guys took the practice test first in the back of the book, found their weak points and then studied their weak points? Did you find this helpful? Did you pass first round?
  10. How long did it take you to study for the TEAS?
  11. For anyone who has taken a TEAS prep class....does it actually help?
  12. I never see Microbiology as a online class. Has anyone ever taken it online?
  13. Sacramento state university, san jose state university
  14. Thanks guys for all the advice. But the class is actually getting better, its just the first week that was hell. She uses powerpoint, which helps a lot because she will explain the topic in depth and use powerpoint as a guide
