I am sick of nursing today. I am sick of being kicked, spat on, the abusive spouse is a good name for the administrators.
Today a place I had worked for refused to take me back. Maybe I missed a med or cried when I could not work or finish a shift when my house was on fire. I called the risk manager. I am ready to take people to court for their back stabbing lies. Yes, nurses not only eat their young they eat each other.
I wish I were not a nurse.
I lost pay recently, because I wanted the day off for illness. Now, I find that STAFFING CO. HAS ADVERTISED me to other agencies as not finishing a contract.
I am giving up, no one cares in this life, no one helps you, no one wants someone to get ahead. I have no family so bash her, they must say.. I did not do anything wrong to a patient, I always talked to my charge nurse. Maybe I need to lie more. I am so sorry for being a nurse. I am going to lose my home. No one cores. Life is awful for me. Someone puts you on a bad list and leaves you there. There is no place to go. I have to go two hours away from my home to maybe get a job. I have good references. I have run into some awful places to work. All I need is some support there is none I have run across.
My advice to people is to stay out of nursing. They will hurt you.
Thank you for letting me vent, anyone out there treated like this ?
Please let me know.
Feeling alone is not a good feeling, right? I'm glad to see you're feeling better, but in case these feelings come back, maybe you should at least think about seeing a therapist if you don't feel you need a doctor. Maybe you just need to talk. Things have a way of getting clearer in thought after venting? Do you have a good friend that can help you through this? I wish you the best.
Prayers,
Sharona
I am so sorry that you are having a rough time. There are many good and caring nurses and people in this world. When you are down it seems like you have no one to turn to, but stop for a second, take a look around and I know you will find someone to talk to. Is there a church, or even the Salvation Army where they have chaplains that can talk with you or seek out a professional counselor and talk with them. You need some help and there are people in this world who do care. You have many people on this website who are praying for you and giving you words of encouragement. Not all nurses eat their young. Some of us even though we have battle scars over our entire bodies, still wrap their arms around a younger, less experienced nurse and protect them. Please don't give up on nursing. It is a noble and honorable profession and it WILL get better for you.
you worked hard to become a nurse dont let a few bad apples spoil it for you. any place can become a toxic enviornment. I have worked in some really bad places outside the medical field. i think first you should try to work on your own happiness. have you read the secret? its about t hinking positive and how the more you think positive the more positive things come your way. it really works. find someone to talk to. try to take better care of yourself and when you feel better then start thinking about whether this job is for you or not. feel better and god bless!:icon_hug:
Remember, the USA is not called the land of opportunity for nothing. Go online and look up what is available at community colleges, and see what courses they offer. Maybe a career change is needed. Even if you stay with nursing, let it be a choice. Yes, there were shifts where I swore I would apply to truck driving school the next day.

Maybe you can do something like that in nursing. I had a friend who worked for a private company doing independent chart reviews of some sort, of hospitals. Or, while working as a nurse, maybe take classes for accounting, if that appeals to you. Make a plan of action! There's no reason why nurses can't switch careers, lots of people do this!
