I get so sick of school sometimes!!

I am sure I am not the only one.

I was doing a rough estimate of what all classes I will be taking the next 3 semesters (BSN pre reqs) and it just about overwhelms me to see what all I have to do- I wonder if Im really smart enough!! Chemistry, Statistics, MORE algebra (I had to start with elementary algebra so I can take College Algebra), Microbiology, Zoology, Spanish 1 and 2 , etc and I just feel like throwing in the towel sometimes. But I really just want to get my BSN pre -reqs out of the way, I dont want to get my ADN and then half to go back and take all the BSN pre -reqs to get into the RN-BSN program while working (which is only 9 montsh here full time but its all the freakin pre reqs to get into that that suck! lol)

I wish I could meet someone who was actually hired part time out of nursing school- does that ever happen? If I *knew* for sure I could get hired part time right out of nursing school I would work part time and go to school for my BSN full time but I have yet to meet anyone who was hired part time right out of school (cause of length of oreintation and the hours that is, etc). I hear people saying that is what they "plan to do" but is that realistic? I need some input in that, I think Im gonna call some of the hospitals are here and see if they do that.

I am glad this semester is almost over. Im only taking 1 class this summer I decided so my brain wont fizzel out....lol

Just venting...lol Its late at night and I have a algebra and anatomy test next class! My brain is tired, I'm about cranial nerved out tonight.....lol

I know I can do it! Thanks for the encouragement and marking through those classes with a red marker is a good idea actually- shows me what all I have accomplished.

I just had a mentally tiring day yesterday and I guess it was all getting to me, I feel much better today now that the weekend is hear. I love science classes but I am scared to death of Statistics and Chemistry which I will take next semester!!

Thanks again for the reassurance, I really appreciate it.

Statistics was one of the classes that I least liked. It became a mental "I have to do it" class, but after the first exam, it wasn't so bad. Chemistry was kind of interesting to me....gave me the "why's" of things working a certain way and when it came to pharm, I could almost picture it in my head.

Good luck...it will be well worth it in the end!!

Marilyn,

I'm taking stats right now, if the same teacher I have is teaching it next semester you should definitely take her class. She makes it so easy and simplifies it so much. Have you enrolled for it yet?

No I havent enrolled for it yet. What is her name and the section number? Thanks Cynthiann! How are you doing anyways? I thought in order to take Statistics you had to have College Algebra or are you taking Psych Statistics? I think they both will transfer?

Actually, I am past the pre-reqs and am into my major classes. I don't look at it as a challenge or overwhelming. I go into the classes knowing that I will pass. I don't feel bad when I don't get an A in a specific course, because I know I did my best. "As much as my tuition is, you best believe I am at every lecture, lab, clinical that is required". Positive affirmation is everything.

I am considering taking 20 credits in the fall (I know I am crazy but 20 credits are charged the same at 12 credits at my school so why not!)

You will do just fine. Just remember to absorb all that you can in lecture. Review points that you don't completely understand when you get home, remembering to study for the lecture prior to lecture, reviewing the material prior to an exam and you will do fine!

Yes, I'm taking psych stats. Any stats class will transfer to OU. The only pre-req to the class is intro psych, have you taken that yet? Her name is Pratt, I know she's not listed in the printed schedule. She usually doesn't know exactly what class she will teach until later on, I know since I had her last semester for intro psych. I'm also taking her for dev. psych. I'm making an A in both classes. As soon as I find out what she's teaching or if she's even teaching stats again (this is her first semester teaching it) I'll definitely let you know.

By the way, did you ever go to that OSU open house?
