I FINALLY passed the CPNE in Mansfield

Published

Hi again everyone! I hadn't discussed my personal situation with many of you in a while, but at long last I FINALLY passed the CPNE in Mansfield, Ohio with no repeats. It was my third attempt.

OK, nobody likes to admit to failing, and I didn't want to say anything to anyone and jinx it. I received a cancellation date a few weeks back for a weekday exam. (It was Tues., 6/17 through Thurs, 6/19.)

The first time I tested, half of it was my nerves and not knowing what to expect until I experienced it. Admittedly, the other half was probably denial, meaning I thought I was ready when I really wasn't because I wanted it done and over with. That one was over before it even began.

The second time around, I was cautiously optimistic. I breezed through my labs Friday night, and passed my first PCS Saturday morning with no problem. PCS 2 I failed because I incorrectly worded a Diagnostic Statement during the Evaluation Phase, and failed PCS 3 on Sunday morning on a documentation error, also during the Evaluation Phase. I would rather fail miserably than like that.

But this time I passed with no repeats. I had very nice, easygoing CE's and easy Areas of Care. I will post later about my experience. Just wanted to share my good news!!!

I am so proud of you. Here I've been fretting over falling HD2 and wondering how to pick up the pieces to push forward, and you have conquered it all. You are a true inspiration to those of us still surfing the waves thru this program. I thank you for your post. It has helped me see that the old saying, that "winners never quit". Congradulations GN. I hope you stay around to give some advice to the rest of us.

COngratulations!

I know the agony of failing it. I just did.

Well done, my friend. Now, onto the boards!

Yes, I know all too well. The first time I tested I was disappointed about not passing, but I knew how very difficult it was so I didn't feel TOO bad. But the second time around I was devastated.

I am so sorry to hear about your not passing. Just don't give up at this!! A friend of mine who tested last fall also told me that another person who tested with her started off bad. She had failed two labs on Friday night and the two PCS's on Saturday, but passed the labs on Saturday and passed THREE PCS's on Sunday. Moral of the story: Anything is possible.
