I failed my nursing entrance exam

:o I know most of you take the NET but at my school we take a test called the Critical Thinking exam. Its a very annoying test that has really really wierd questions. I have to have a minimum of 10 to apply to the nursing program and I got a 9:angryfire . I feel so stupid because it doesn't involve math or english skills that are taken on the NET, just really ridiculous question that may you think. Plus on top of that its a time test, 45mins to answer 34 questions. Has anyone else taken a test like this instead of NET testing. Oh and to top it off you can only take the test twice in a year.:uhoh3: So I gotta get on the ball and study my tail off because the deadline to apply is coming up soon.

Nursing school, the NCLEX and actual nursing are all about critical thinking. I don't know that it is something that you can actually learn content on but it is something that you can practice for. I would suggest getting a question/answer book that makes you use critical thinking. Sometimes just answering the types of questions that you will face on a test is extremely helpful. Good luck!

Hang in there and try again...

Good luck to you!

I'm sorry. Good luck to you! :)

Thanks everybody for all your support. I know all aspects of nursing deal with critical thinking and I will get a better score this time around. I have come to far to let this one thing stand in my way. Thanks again for the encouragement.

FYI, the NET doesn't test English skills, it also tests critical thinking. (As well as math....)

As for your exam....You are sooooooo close! Just because you failed it, doesn't mean that you can become a great nurse. Critical thinking questions are questions that some people just have to acquire a nack at answering.

Study hard & good luck!
