I can't believe it, I actually failed the math section on the NET. I am terrible at math so I really don't know why I am the least bit surprised.
Anyway, I only failed it by 2% so the school has offered to let me re-test in math. I really hope that I can pass it this time.(it will be a written test this time)
I did great on all of the other areas, and did pass some of the math sections but I scored just a bit too low on fractions, number conversions and algebra.
I have to call on Tues to set up an appt. I plan on April 6th. I don't really want to wait that long but I do want time to learn that darn math.
Princess74, good luck tomorrow! (If that's when you set it up!)

Hey princess, did you pass the test!!! you didn't post anything yet and I think I remember you saying something about taking it yesterday. So whats the news.
I took it yesterday, they gave me the HOBET which was pretty much exactly the same as the NET except for the problems were more complex. Also it was a test that I had to take on a scan-tron sheet, it was not on the computer. They have to mail the test off to be graded so I have to wait 7 business days to find out if I passed it or not. (Talk about stressing out)
Michelle is suppose to call me when she gets the results back.
I'm not really sure if I passed it or not. I'm pretty sure that I did better on it then I did on the first test, which I only failed by 2%, so hopefully I did pass it. I can't remember if they go by the overall math composite score or if they go by each individual section(FRACTIONS, NUMBER CONVERSIONS, ALGEBRA, ETC...) Do you know which way that they do it?
I'll let you know as soon as I find out something. You should get :balloons: your letter :balloons: soon huh? Your gonna get in, I just know you are!!
Thanks to everyone else for all the advice and the good wishes. Keep your fingers crossed for me.
Hey, why did they make you take the test on the scantron. I did my re-test on the computer. Are you talking about sentara or another school? Anyways, they go by the overall composite score. I hope that I get in, maybe I will get something within the next 2 weeks or I'm calling!! The thread was closed b/c some members was arguing over grammar and getting each other's comments mixed up. It all started when someone made a rude comment towards you about your spelling and somebody came to your defense. Even though it was quite funny, I won't go into detail since it's over with and I don't want to get kicked off the website for repeating what I read!!!:chair:

Hey I never said that I could spell lol. I did quite well on the reading/spelling/grammar part of the NET, thank you very much!
Thanks to who ever came to my rescue and to whoever started the trouble!
Yes it was at Sentara where I took the test over. I didn't understand why it was not on the computer either.
You know something else that surprised me. There were no word problems on the test.
Now, that would be a blessing for me. I always hated the word problems, and that was in Elementary Algebra. Even when we got to use the formulas for our test, I did lousy on that particular section. Now, that makes a person feel pretty stupid, but I have always hated math anyway.

Hey, I'm sorry it took me so long to answer this (next time PM me b/c I don't really look through the threads and posts to see if ?s are directed at me and the system did not email me)
My test was on the computer, I guess the written test is for those who failed the english. I passed the english but failed the math part the first time b/c of lack of skill and time. The test was exactly the same as the first one. By the way I passed the 2nd time but my scores wasn't as good as NURSECADET'S. I'm going for the RN program so I guess that the tests are different than the LPN test. Girl don't sweat it b/c if you study to much your brain will go blank, at least for me it does. I don't like to get too stressed out about things and believes if it is meant to be than it will (I have developed ulcers from stressing too much) I studied alot right after I failed my test. I studied a little bit closer to the test. The day of the test I slept until about an hour I was suppose to leave and then studied. I did not buy any books to study, I used their paper study guide and went to a website that Michelle told me about www.aaamath.com . The fraction problems towards the end, right before the algebra are really hard. They are so complex and they was not in the study guide. Make sure you time yourself during the math b/c you only get 1min per problem which I think is crazy. I think that I did great b/c I neary tripled my points that I had before. I am proud of myself since I had limited time to study since I got a baby, work, go to school, and volunteer. Anyways good luck tommorrow and don't sweat it b/c it is simple math and english...my little brother in the 6 grade can do it. The problem is that we been away from that simple kind of math so long and was taught to use a calculator that it is harder for us to rekindle the fire. It makes me wonder how can I get an A in statistics but can't multiple and divide fractions?............
Good luck:biggringi
