I've took my nclex rn exam last 4/10/2014 1st time. I failed on 75 questions, did the PVT even paid the quick results because i'm on denial..then the reality sets in..I FAILED! it sucks! I know i'm going to fail because i'm not getting those hardcore questions instead asking me simple questions like how to set up an IV. Although i'm getting hard questions at a time but it's not all the time and it got me worried. I'm really disappointed on myself. I'm a failure!!! I just got a baby and a house and my husband was relying on me to get a RN job soon to help with the bills. I feel ashamed of myself i failed those people who were counting on me. I've paid kaplan, ncsbn and do the saunders/cd...I've kept crying and crying:cry:.. i want to overcome this feeling and move on.

Pls Help me how to pass this exam. I really need to get back on my feet soon but my mind is scattered , i don't know how to start over. Any tips , resources? i really need to pass this exam soon so i could give a better future for my baby. I'm waiting for the official results from ncsbn to determine my area of weaknesses but i want to strategize as soon as possible on passing this dreaded exam. Pls help me. please..please...please...

First off, Keep your head up!!! positive energy gets you half of the way!! I used both Kaplan and Hurst to prepare. I found Hurst MUCH better for core content review. The only thing I liked about Kaplan was learning how to answer the questions. I studied about 8 hours a day and did about 75-100 questions a day.

Just breathe and take it day by day!!! You will have that RN after your name before you know it!

Specializes in Cardiac, ER, Pediatrics, Corrections.

Hang in there!! Hugs! Pick up and try again. You will knock it out next time!

I did ATI plus 100 questions a day .

my advice would just be to do questions do at least 300 hundred questions a day... to me the NCLEX was not content it was the way the questions are worded and set up... train your brain to answer questions.. you already know what you need to know.. and believe me you will never know enough.. there will be questions on there that you will look at the screen and say "what is that" but just know how to tackle it... use the kaplan tree... it works... i bought a book that was all about how to answer questions how to read questions its by kaplan its the 2014 version at barns and noble... i think its less then 50 bucks... much worth it.. i used it for my HESI and a review for the NCLEX. i read it cover to cover and answered all the questions in that book before my exit HESI... then just skimmed through it before the NCLEX.

Hi guys! thanks for the input/tips, I've appreciated it:yes: I went back to basics and reading the content of Saunders and still thinking if I should get Hurst. But as of now Saunders come first before I jump to my other books. I don't want to have that confusion anymore and get overwhelmed reading 3 books at a time. I'm answering 100 questions/day which is good but sooner or later I'll try to increase the questions as much as I can tolerate. I can only study when the baby is sleeping and husband is here to take care of the baby. (I quit my job as a CNA to prepare for nclex) So far I'm getting 6-8 hours of studying. It's tough but I'm keeping a positive attitude to keep up with my goals. Hopefully I can pass this exam and get a RN job. Reading all the wonderful advices from you guys and beating the nclex inspires me. Again thank you guys! you don't know how much it helps me to break that cycle of depression. I'm looking forward to have a better future with a positive outlook. Hugs and kisses to all of you! love you guys!

Hi!i used kaplan too and i passed on my first attempt. Did kaplan tell u about the strategies on how answer? What i did was to i kept on answering practice questions and go back to check for the right answers and not really focusing on the book. I did almost a total of 2000 questions in almost 2 months. You can try it next time. GOd bless.

that's the spirit @jollyskyrider DON'T GIVE UP!!! yes that RN is so soon!! just focus.. MAY GOD BLESS U! :)

Hello I wanted you to know that you are not alone. I took the nclex and failed I was not in denial and felt really bad. I had to face it I failed and I had the full 265 so I know I was fighting for my life so to say. I took my exam 04/16/2014 at a time I knew I shouldn't have. Last week my grandfather died and I'm actually off of work because of that. I chose to try and get it out of the way because I had time off and I felt this was a now or never idea. Yeah bad....yeah dumb I know. What's even worst is I am already an Lpn and it's really rough knowing you failed. I said all of this to say, that again you are not alone, and understand that you will move on and move forward. We both now know what to expect and I am looking forward to seeing my cpr which will go over our weak areas and go from there. I have since started back studying and know that those sata is and have always been my weakness. I am also reviewing some content areas that I know I need to review as well. Don't give up we have 45 days until we can take it again and I'm determined to conquer this test. This is not the first thing I've failed at nor will it be my last but i am determined to get up and give 110 percent to master a craft that I enjoy and conquer an exam that I already know I just have to believe.

Thanks horsebytes...

I took the Hurst review. I graduated from Nursing school 10 years ago. I did not take one practice test, although I have at least 4 test banks on deck, and used the just the resources that came with the online Hurst review. I did it, you can too. Put absolute faith in what Hurst teaches and you will pass, like I did. I studied the Hurst review at a very convenient rate for 5 months prior to taking the NCLE-RN test.

Hi, I need help and any advice is much appreciated. I have a lot of reviewers including of Saunders which is a good review material for me, U world and I try to take about 200 questions a day and review the rationales, NCSBN I have a course with however it does not seem helpful for me, and I occasionally read through the kaplan review book however there so much material, that I feel lost. I called Kaplan and am thinking about re taking the comprehensive review course but am unsure. My NCLEX exam is scheduled in a month and honestly I don't know if I'm ready. Deciding on whether to push back my exam or just go for it. A little hesitant since I graduated in 2012 and just been so busy managing my business that I'm just unsure of what to do. Please post any comments in respect as I an open to any suggestions. Thank you.
