Hi guys. I took my test on Thursday April 10. I got the bad pop up and failed, I had like 50 SATAS, and many ordering questions, 85 in total. I used Hurst and Kaplan. I don't know how to start over. I am a failure to my husband who is waiting for me so that he can take a break from his job.
I feel incompetent. I am very bad at SATAS, ORDERING and meds. I don't know what to purchase so that I can start this journey again. Please help me, what should I do? What should I study from? What are some of your resources?
I was thinking about purchasing the 3 week course on NCSBN. Please help a depressed person out? Please? Can I just pay for my ATT now? NY born by the way.
What helped you?
Kaplan?
NCSBN
HURST?
SAUNDERS?

First, breathe. I'm sorry-it sucks. You should receive a report in the mail detailing your results. I'd build on that in the areas you may need to bring yourself up to speed on. NCSBN is very comprehensive in review and has many questions available for review. There is a pre-test which you take and can also pinpoint areas to focus on. I found it very helpful. You can get as much out of it as you put into it. I reviewed things I felt weaker in and then mainly used the questions to review. I also bought Saunders Q&A for NCLEX and did questions every night.
I'm not use about how long the wait is to reschedule...perhaps someone from NY can help you out there, or you can check with your BON. I wish you all the best....some of my friends who are amazing and very competent nurses did not pass the first time....you will get this!

There was an OP who shared a link to the NCLEX Review 3000 software by Lippincott. I used it for alternative and specific client need categories questions. I also downloaded NCLEX Mastery app. It helped me a lot but what works for me might not work for you. So far i still get the good pop up on my nclex pn i took yesterday 4/11/14.

I am so sorry to hear you failed...I also failed my nclex-pn a few weeks ago. But trust you will start to feel better soon. I like the ncsbn for the nclex-pn they explaining things really well for me. But I didn't take it to heart, I wasted a lot of time looking through books. When I should have forced on the prize...only maybe 2 sources to study from. And do questions , questions until you understand what they are saying in the questions. I wish you luck and it gets better ....I know I been there a few weeks ago...

Too much pressure on yourself. My Dear, you are not a failure to anyone. You simple failed the NCLEX. Many of us failed the NCLEX more than once. But, I know we are not a failure. It is simple not our time to pass yet. We will continue to push, study and give it all to God. Ultimately, it all belongs to God. My encouragement to you is NEVER GIVE UP! If you believe in the power of prayer, pray that God will give you the strength to endure. I understand it is a difficult time for you. But, you will get through this. And if no one is encouraging you, encourage your self. Because you were the one in Nursing school studying hard, going to clinicals ect, to earn your Nursing degree. Jeremiah 29V11. God have a plan for your life. Stay strong my sister.
NEW YORK is 45 day wait and you can take the NCLEX until you pass. Ultimately, YOU WILL PASS THE NCLEX!
Also in Ohio you have to wait 45 days, plus $75, and $200 to retake the test. Once you pay, they will not let you take schedule until 45 days are up. Good luck

My aproach was to passing the NCLEX was that i studied one section of the Hurst review per day then i completed about 200-300 nclex questions about the section directly afterwards. I purchased the NCSBN but i did not use it because i prefer my question banks to be topic specific not random order. I studied questions from Saunders, NCLEX 4000 (or 3500), Davis NCLEX review, and Lacharity PDA.
