I am depressed; Failed NCLEX for the 1st TIME.

Published

Hi guys. I took my test on Thursday April 10. I got the bad pop up and failed, I had like 50 SATAS, and many ordering questions, 85 in total. I used Hurst and Kaplan. I don't know how to start over. I am a failure to my husband who is waiting for me so that he can take a break from his job.

I feel incompetent. I am very bad at SATAS, ORDERING and meds. I don't know what to purchase so that I can start this journey again. Please help me, what should I do? What should I study from? What are some of your resources?

I was thinking about purchasing the 3 week course on NCSBN. Please help a depressed person out? Please? Can I just pay for my ATT now? NY born by the way.

What helped you?

Kaplan?

NCSBN

HURST?

SAUNDERS?

Just take a deep breath..woosah..i too failed on my first try. I didnt use any classes just saunders book and ati that my school had us do but I was also going through alot of family issues and didnt give enough time to studying.

After that itook matters into my own hands. I was devastated but enrolled in kaplan and the class helped me so much. I believe in the decision tree and I went home and just did questions. Wrote them out and answered them.I didn't go home and review the book. Just did the qbank and the qbank app on iphone.

I also downloaded 1000 tips for nclex on amazon onto my kindle. Helped me so much. Good luck. I passed at 76 but when I failed I had 265 questions.

Believe in your self and be confident. You know the material its just a matter of knowing how to answer the questions and choose the best answer

What the extra $75.00 for in Ohio? In New York you only have to pay $200.00 to take the exam. We are really paying the price for Nursing, literally.

I read this book cover to cover and practiced some questions from the website that comes with the book http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/1455727555?pc_redir=1397388979&robot_redir=1

In Ohio we have to reapply for $75 for the application again plus $200 for the nclex...they don't make us pay for the $60 for background . As long as it's within the year of the test. I want to pay my $200 for the test this week for sure.

Sorry to hear that!!! It's been about a month since I failed at my first attempt and it took me 2 weeks to swallow it. But you will get over it and like so many others say...the test doesn't determine if you are going to be a good nurse. Take some time off to recuperate and than get back on the ball!

Thank you for clarification DJAYS, Success in passing the NCLEX.
