I am so darn happy

I survived my first semester of nursing school[banana] Go Me!!![/banana]

It was close and I won't lie I barely passed. I only had 2 points to spare but we have a saying C= RN :lol2:

I have talked to some others and apparently we lost about 7 people once the grades were calculated. Since the beginning of the semester we have lost about 12 people so far. That sounds like a lot to me. How many have been dropped from your program?

Well, we had 15 drop from 70 before we even sat down for the final...then I know of 4-5 who didn't pass after it, so down to 50 or so. Remember, c does = RN and who cares once you get your license...

However, now you know what's expected and how school works. So you can have a little more breathing room come spring, right?

Back in Fundamentals my class started with 63.

We are going into 3rd semester and there are 27 of us left.

Just lost a dear, DEAR friend to Psych.

It totally stinks considering the "monster" Med/Surg 2 + 3 are yet to come :(

hi all,

I am new to allnurses but I wanted to put my input on this topic. In my class we started out with 33 in April and are now down to 17. My program is accerlated and pretty difficult but its worth it in the end. Have a good weekend

I know after this semester that my study habits need to change. Next semester for us is Med Surge and I hear that's usually when most people get dropped.:eek:

I had a solid C going into my final, but I was still sweating because our final is 25% of our final grade so it was very easy to fail the course. I am just glad I know what to expect now.

We've lost 12 out of 70.... And it's first semester, but I guess a lot of people drop in the very beginning.

We lost 8 people in my section of 48.....there are five sections, but I don't know the total loss since September. Still, it was always sobering to see their empty seats in lecture every day....

C your way through Nursing School!!!

I don't know, we are so split up because we do split sememster classes that right now i only see 1/4 of my class at a time!! And actually some of them i might never have a class with again!! sophomore year we were all together!! We have lost quite a few though, not only because of drop outs but because people failed a class!!

I just finished my 1st semester too...I can't believe I made it. I ended up with 4 Bs and an A...I'll take that! I can't wait to start clinicals next semester, it's going to be fun.

Yeah, I'll have a better of idea of what the class looks like next semester, as we all have T and R lecture classes, one of 2 sections for seminar T mornings, and W or F clinicals..no idea if anyone I get along with will be in clinicals with me next semester..

Wow! Now I am worried..............I am going to begin the nursing program in January (Fresno State), and I am right now buying all those things that are going to make me feel I am at least in the way...........shoes, steto, uniforms, etc.etc.............

Is really so hard?

We started with 24. Three dropped during the first 2 weeks. Last Friday I learned that 3 more will not be returning after break due to failing and we haven't even had finals yet.

The class ahead of us is floundering. I learned that several have failed some classes & will be repeating their clinicals with us.

Kind of scary.
