I had to put a hold on going to nursing school until I could find a part time program. My sister who was going to watch my children went to work full time so I had to put it on hold. I finally found a part time program and will be admitted to their January 2004 class. It stinks having to wait that long, but I have to retake my A&P classes because they are too old to transfer so I have things to do to keep me busy over the next year. I hope I am welcome here even though I haven't started the actual nursing classes. I have to take the ACT too. I am nervous about that. I feel so old now and I never took it in highschool. I have a few gen ed classes to keep me busy while waiting to. Any ideas on other things I can do to be preparing while I wait. Oh and if anyone does remember me dh and I are expecting our last baby in April 03.

Welcome back Teresa! I think there are quite a few students on this board working on their pre-reqs. I wish I had found this board sooner, there are so many great people here! Congrats on the latest addition to your family!

Hi Teresa! I just joined recently, but I just wanted to say that I'm also taking my pre-reqs now. There seem to be quite a few here who are. I'm hoping to start a BSN program next year.
Good luck with your classes!!

What they said, and congo rats on the upcoming arrival! :) :) :)
I think I read in another post that this is number 5 for you? Awesome!
I hear ya on the A&P thing...I got a waiver for mine since it has been 5 years and SIX MONTHS since I took A&P II (the cutoff was 5 years, so they fudged the retake rule for me).
There are a lot of us here in the same boat as you - part-time, pre-req's, kids, etc. :) Welcome back! :)

Congratulations and welcome back!!! I'm fairly new here myself(working on prereq's), and have found that the people here are wonderful and welcome all...even those who are just considering nursing as a career.
