Human Growth and Development Spring 2007

Is there anyone else taking this in the spring? What about those of you who have already taken it? Any advice?

Hi,

The course seems pretty straightforward and easy. If you can just read and gquite a bit.et into the development of childhood and continue it through adulthood into the dying process, you'll do great! If you've ever had a basic psychology class, it's alot like that, but it follows the entire lifespan. Know Erickson, Piaget, Jung, and the other major psychology clinicians. Know childhood and adolescent as well as adult development sequences. It really isn't hard, but you do need to reed and memorize quite a bit. Buy your book, and start reading and highlighting during Christmas break. It really isn't that difficult. Just imagine a Intro to Psychology class and expand on that. It is more specific to the development process rather that a glorification of Freud.

Just read and study the clinicians and their thinking and you'll doo fine.

Yes... just like the above poster. It's all about Erikson's stages and Maslow's Hierarchy of needs.. It's really a class where you look at someone's entire life from start to finish and critically think about the differenet steps of life. I really enjoyed this class.

I'm in it this spring also. I don't think it'll be that hard (at least from what I've heard). Good luck!

I am one of the lucky ones, too. I also take Ethics

From what I know from people who have taken my instructor, I have to do a presentation which will be peer graded LOL peer graded....frightening!!!!!!

I took it this semester and just completed the final exam yesterday.

It wasn't extremely difficult, mostly because our professor helped us out by giving us take-home tests and allowing us to use an index card as a cheat sheet during tests. The material is easy to grasp.

There's also no need to purchase the newest, most expensive version of the textbook. I did well with a 5 year old edition.

I'll be in the class as well!!!

this class takes you from conception to death and is quite interesting, but mostly common knowledge, except for the psychology part of erikson & piaget and other theorists. attend every week, take lots of notes, and its pretty easy from there.. have fun & good luck..

I probably don't even know how to "act" in a class like that anymore. My brain has been washed to operate in one way only.... the A&P way.I took all my sciences one after another lately.

I hope I won't be negatively surprised.....:lol2:

I loved the class. It will be a welcome break for your brain in comparison to A&P/Micro, etc. It really took very little time. Ethics on the other hand might be more time consuming.

I am looking forward to it...so much to learn, sounds all so interesting.

Wish me luck on my A&P final this morning.

Good luck. You will do great, I am sure.

I think my professors are really good too, as I heard from other students and "rate my professor"
