I am hoping to start at the TTU SON as well in August. So far I can't tell much about the program. I have heard it is not as hands on as some other programs, but I have also heard you really learn your info well.
  2. I am applying to Texas Tech University HSC's SON to start in August.
  3. I would most definitely suggest taking chemistry before patho. I am currently taking patho without having taken a chemistry, and it's soooo hard. I think the others in my class that have had chemistry still think it's a tough class, but at least have a lot of the background knowledge and vocabulary down already.
  4. I, too, would love some ideas on what questions to ask during th interview process, both for ns and for a nursing job interview once I am finished with school. Thanks for any ideas! bblair
  5. I also have Understanding Nutrition by Whitney/Rolfes...I am taking the cours at SPC.
  6. At my school, you have to get a non-degree acceptance to take it, and you apply to the program after completing it. This is for the second degree program, though, so it may typically be different.
  7. TXRN- Have you received any info. yet? Is the RN-BSN program for people who are already RN's and want their BSN, or are you getting both at the same time? bblair
  8. Is there anyone else taking this in the spring? What about those of you who have already taken it? Any advice?
  9. I am taking this starting in January. Anyone else???
  10. I am taking this as one of my pe-reqs to start NS in August. Is anyone else taking Nursing patho in the spring?
  11. Anyone else taking this?
  12. I am currently a teacher hopefully starting nursing school in August. I knew I either wanted nursing or teaching as a career, and my family talked me into teaching because of the summers/CHristmas break, etc. BUT, if you don't enjoy it, who cares how much time you have off, you are going to be miserable.
  13. In looking around this site, I have seen seveal mention that they are teachers who are going/went into nursing. I am currently teaching middle school, and hoping to start nursing school in August. I was just curious how many educators-turned-nurses there are out there. Brooke
  14. I will be starting at TTUHSC in August for the second degree RN/BSN program, but am taking my pre-reqs through South Plains (A&P1&2, Microbiology, Food and Nutrition, and Human Development). Has anyone had any of these courses at SPC? I would love to know the difficulty level, how much time I should expect to commit to studying a week, etc. Brooke
  15. I am going to be in the second degree program in August. I will start taking my pre-reqs in January, as I have not had near enough sciences.
