Human Growth and Development Course

I didn't want to dig back through the whole thread...

Does anyone else have to write observation papers? We have to write three. Each one we are required to observe a different age group. I did my first observation today at a preschool. I was wondering in anyone had samples of how the observation papers are written.

My class last night was cancelled... grr. I have no idea how we're going to get through the rest of the lifespan in the next month. Very frustrating. Oh well, I guess it will give me time to catch up on my journal entries and start working on my paper.

That actually wasn't quite forceful enough .. lol I wound up using up to my very last minute. I printed it out and didn't even check until I got there if it had printed out correctly.

BUT YIPPEEEEEEEEEEEEE I am finished! It's not brilliant but it's finished!!!

Sorry, Micci, I don't have to do an observation of the same kind so don't know how they would expect you to do it. There must be some sort of protocol to follow, though. Did the teacher give you any more guidance than that? I will let you know if I find anything on it.

Where are you at now, arciedee? Why was class cancelled and did you get caught up on your journal entires?

I'm biding my time while waiting for this one to be over! Just the final left (oh, and 2.5 more weeks of classes). Yay!!

Well, our lectures for this course were cancelled for this week as our prof's brother died. I feel so bad for her but have no idea if he has been sick or if it was sudden.

I am certainly not disappointed to have the lectures cancelled but I guess that means we will be at break neck speed next week with 3 more lectures to go. I must say I didn't use the normal class time for reading or anything crazy intelligent like that. Ah well. I bet our case study papers will not be marked for a very long time at this rate but I guess that's ok.

Anyhoo, I was thinking of getting a card for her and just signing it generally from "a student" or .. something .. what do you think? I want the result to be that she feels supported and not that she thinks one of her students is sucking up .. I have no idea if she'd think that in the first place but ... input?

Remember everything they teach you about Maslow and Erickson. I am in my last semester of RN and we are still being tested on that stuff.

No, but I'm kind of wishing I had considered it. Still, it's almost over for me now and I'm glad to be finishing.

I almost done with me pre-req's, and I was thinking about cleping human Growth, Excelsior said that they will accept this as lifespan and development.

I took Growth and Development too. Piece of cake! Learn Erikson's ages and stages, learn the different theorists, it really is basic psychology. However, I have a Bachelor's degree in psychology. It really is easy. Interesting too. It talks about how people learn grow and develop all thoughout their lives until death. You'll do fine.

Well, my final is tomorrow afternoon! Prayers for me, please!! I am soo pumped to be done with this course!!!!! I feel badly because my prof is such a nice and caring woman but has been very vague and boring in her presentations. I feel frustrated in general.

Anyway, please pray that I will just be relaxed and that I will know the answers (it's 100 m/c YIPPEEEE .. I was so relieved). I have an A- at the moment so need to do well to keep an A. Thanks in advance!!

How about everyone else? Are you all finished?

Tonight is my ds's kid bday party and in one way maybe it will de-stress me and in another it might make me more stressed! Yargh!!

Kayel, how did you do? Sorry I didn't get to this until today to offer my good luck vibes. I still have another week to go. We're watching a movie tomorrow night and then final (not cumulative) next week. Didn't make it through the whole life span (didn't think we would). But I'll be happy to have it behind me, at any rate.
