HRSA 2021-2022

Updated:   Published

I haven't seen anyone start a thread about applying for this year's HRSA scholarships. I am waiting to see if I am accepted into a school in IL (fingers crossed!) and then I am going to start my application process for HRSA. The program I am applying to is a 16 months ABSN that starts in august! what about you all?

Have you been accepted some where yet? Still in the application process? Already started the Scholarship application?

Anyone else have trouble getting their school to fill out the fall enrollment verification form?  I was told by my school that since it is requiring a school seal it has to be mailed to me, they won't email it.

Yes - I had to reach out again this morning - if I don’t hear back by 2 I’m going to call them. I’m getting super anxious about it.

Ya my school is not responding about it either but they have emailed me back about other things I am going in today I can’t risk them not getting it done on time

I was able to get a hold of the records coordinator who said it was school policy and there was nothing she could do about sending it electronically. She offered to overnight it and she already sent me the tracking number so hopefully I will have it tomorrow.  Good luck to those having issues with this!

if we already accepted our loans and should get a refund what happens to that once the scholarship is finalized?

Hello all,

I spoke with them today. They said they’re having technical issues and some “ batches” were delayed.

stay faithful!

So there is a possibility that people in tier 1 still haven’t been notified?
I have an EFC of 0, a 3.934 GPA, lots of leadership positions (one being president of my college), and 3 years of volunteering with medically underserved populations (one being working with detainees at cook county jail). I’m just feeling super discouraged, yet still trying to remain hopeful; this scholarship would be life changing.

Just got off the phone with them, she said yes emails are still being sent out.

My school put a note on there because we are still partially online and they are not in person. The note just says that they are not able to physically put a label but can add it later due to the pandemic.

This is by far one of the longest wait times I’ve ever had. It’s completely nerve racking ?

I feel you. It’s brutal.

For those who are requiring a school seal - is anyone referring to the NHSC scholarship? I'm looking at the NHSC enrollment form we were given and nowhere does it mention a school seal, just a signature.

I feel discouraged. I can't afford going to nursing school if I don't gett his scholarship and I don't have a co-signed...... I've been fighting to get in nursing school and now I am and can't go if I don't get this scholarship.....

Congrats to those who received the finalist email!

hi same here, I have not heard anything from them (no credit check, no email, no update). I also have an EFC of 0 and a GPA 4.0 at an ivy league nursing school for the PMHNP program. Similarly, I also joined several student orgs and local volunteering programs to serve patients from marginalized background (refugees, low SES) and interned at a state psych hospital for couple months while in undergrad. I just accepted an RN offer to work at a local detox facility that mainly serves homeless populations while there are other offers that pay much better. I know it can be very discouraging to hear nothing, and the financial support is definitely life-changing. However, no matter what the result is, my goal and passion to provide high quality care for the marginalized populations will not be changed, and there will be more opportunities in the future (loan repayment program) that can also be helpful. Remember, you're brilliant and will be a great nurse regardless of the result! ?
