HRSA 2021-2022

Nursing Students General Students

Updated:   Published

I haven't seen anyone start a thread about applying for this year's HRSA scholarships. I am waiting to see if I am accepted into a school in IL (fingers crossed!) and then I am going to start my application process for HRSA. The program I am applying to is a 16 months ABSN that starts in august! what about you all?

Have you been accepted some where yet? Still in the application process? Already started the Scholarship application?

Phew, okay! I was panicking for a second. Thank you!

Hi everyone! I started looking into the scholarship, but I can't help but feel hopeless because of how competitive it is. Is anyone on the same boat?

Hi everyone! HRSA held a webinar to provide more info on the Nurse Corps Scholarship. Here is a link to the recording just in case you missed it: https://HRSA-gov.zoomgov.com/rec/play/78Z-Iuuq-D43GNfGtwSDAKR7W464LaOs1SFNqKZfnU2zUnAHM1WkZbdDY-flEm2whauTjKAYu8VIrPks?startTime=1617217455000

Thanks so much!

I think I have a dilemma. I graduated with my Master's degree three years ago. The HRSA application asks for a recommendation letter from either a Department Chair, faculty advisor, or a faculty member from your accepted program or last attended academic program. I've been accepted into a program but don't start until Sept. so should I try to reach out to professors from my old program instead for the recc. letter?

Hi! Definitely reach out to the professors from your old program for the letter of recommendation.

Hey everyone,

I was wondering if anyone else was confused by the first essay question. 'How will you contribute to the mission of the Nurse Corps SP in providing care to underserved communities, and how does this align with your commitment to pursue a career in nursing?'

Are they asking what specific community we want to work with or specialty? If so, what if I'm not clear on that because I've never worked in the field and am hoping to decide when I get more direct experience? I mean in general I would contribute to the mission in providing care to underserved communities by working with underserved communities LOL.

Thanks!!

Can someone clarify what "proof of certificate" means in the supporting document section?

To me it sounded like it meant nursing license because on an earlier page when it asks if you have your CNA, lpn, RN, etc. it says you'll have to upload the certificate later.

Hey everybody! Hope you're all well and that the application process is going smoothly so far.

Has anybody else been experiencing any problems with the Degree Information page of the portal? I filled it out right when the application opened and I haven't been able to access the page for the past few weeks--it just gives me a 404 error message saying the page can't be found. I'm getting a little worried because it still says In Progress and there are only a few days left before the deadline... I reached out to HRSA and they gave me some troubleshooting tips that unfortunately didn't resolve the issue.

Any recommendations or help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance and have a nice day ?

Hi!! I haven't experienced this issue but the application deadline was just extended to May 26, so I'm sure their IT dept will fix it for you before then.
