    HRSA 2021-2022

Hi everyone, I got a credit check on August 6th and I just got my finalist email today. My EFC is 0 and I have done at least 2 experiences in working with underserved communities. and I'm currently in the first year of my ABSN-MSN program with a specialty in women's health. Congrats to everyone who has received an email so far! I have a question though, it says in the email that being a finalist is not a guarantee of an award, as the awards are subject to the availability of funds. What are the chances that I will be awarded? Thank you so much!

    HRSA Nurse Corps Scholarship 2020-2021

Hi @chelsea21! (sorry allnurses is not letting me message anyone privately for some reason) I just have another question: for the academic letter of recommendation, did you have to ask your post-undergrad professor (when you took your prereqs) OR did you get it from your undergrad professor? I know they said in the application to ask from the "most recent academic program" but IDK if undergrad counts as most recent 🧐

Hi everyone! I started looking into the scholarship, but I can't help but feel hopeless because of how competitive it is. Is anyone on the same boat?

    HRSA Nurse Corps Scholarship 2020-2021

Hi everyone! I got into UPenn for their ABSN/MSN Program. Their program is super expensive and it's stressing me out so much right now. I'm the first in my family to attain a higher education and the first one to receive an education from an Ivy League so I really want to go to this program. I'm not receiving any help from my parents so I really hope I get this scholarship. The main reason why I chose nursing in the first place is because I want to provide care to marginalized and underserved communities in the future. But because I just graduated from undergrad a year ago, I don't have many experiences. I only have 1.5 years volunteering as a scribe at a free clinic, 1.5 years at a school-based health center, and 3 months worth of shadowing providers at rural villages in Mexico. These are really the only experiences I have in terms of working for underserved communities. I got a 3.34 GPA from undergrad. I'm not sure if they also take into account classes post-grad but for that, I have about 3.8 GPA. What are my chances of getting in?

Is the deadline November 2nd at 11:59pm (PST)?
  12. Hi everyone! I'm planning on applying for entry-level MSN programs soon and I was wondering if being a CNA will boost my chances of getting into nursing school (entry-level MSN)? I have my bachelor's in another field and have at least 200 hours of volunteer experience (and at least 40 as a scribe volunteer). I also have a 3.8 GPA (prereqs) and a 3.3 GPA overall. I'm so conflicted because the CNA training costs $1000 and I'm not sure if it's worth going through it especially if I'm going to apply soon. I would really appreciate your help! Thank you so much.
  13. Hi everyone! I am currently working on refining my top 5 nursing schools I want to get into, but the more I do research on them, the more I get discouraged in applying because I don't feel competent enough. On my list so far are Samuel Merritt, John Hopkins, Western University, Columbia and UCSF. I have a 3.3 GPA from undergrad (communication major at a UC) and all As in my pre-reqs (only 1 B). I still have yet to take the GRE and HESI A2. I have 80 hours worth (or 2 quarters) of volunteering at a hospital, about 40 hours worth volunteering at a clinic as a scribe, have gone to a 3-month clinical internship abroad, held 5 leadership positions in an organization during undergrad and I have been working as a health & wellness coordinator for 6 months now. I am 23 and I just graduated from undergrad last year. As for LORs, I can confidently say that I know 2 people who can write me a strong one. My goal is to become an NP and I decided to go on this route 2 years ago. Right now, I am not sure whether I have a good chance of getting into these schools. I want to know everyone's opinion on my stats because I am scared that I won't get into any. Thank you!
