HRSA 2021-2022

I haven't seen anyone start a thread about applying for this year's HRSA scholarships. I am waiting to see if I am accepted into a school in IL (fingers crossed!) and then I am going to start my application process for HRSA. The program I am applying to is a 16 months ABSN that starts in august! what about you all?

Have you been accepted some where yet? Still in the application process? Already started the Scholarship application?

It has basically the same requirements and tuition/stipend/books cover as the HRSA. Plus I think everything is also tax-free, unlike the HRSA. I noticed that there were a lot of comments on the HRSA but not a lot on the HPSP, so you might get a higher chance! It's worth it to try at least!

Hey, is this just for the VA ? I also see it for the army and air force

They are separate scholarships. The one for  the VA requires employment with VA after graduation whereas the ones for the military branches require active duty service contracts (signing up for military service after graduation).

No ??. I wonder if calling will do any good. My advisor said if I don’t hear back by August 1, I need to start looking into private loans. My credit isn’t great so I’m not sure if I have any other options besides this scholarship.

Nope. You can try calling but only if you have time to be on hold forever

I spoke with them today and first round of decisions have started to go out. They have until September 30th to notify all those who are selected. 

Previous cohorts would know they were selected because their credit was run. So maybe check your credit report.

I checked mY credit and sure enough HRSA inquired in June!! I’m going to be up all night praying I get this scholarship ????
