Hello all,

I'm starting this thread for the new applicants for the hrsa nursing scholarship 09-10. Tor prettylady, I think its a random selection. Its the luck of the draw.

Hello everyone! I received an email in mid September, and there was a credit check on my checking account 10/29... but I haven't heard anything or received anything in the mail either! So I don't know WHAT'S going on right now! Has that happened to anyone else here???

Wow, that credit check was late. I recieved the email in mid September and got my official acceptance letter on October 13th. I wonder if you were an alternate and they are still in the process of determining if you got it, hence the late credit check. Don't know but good luck!!!!!

I hope so! I'll take it late! Better late than never :-) I called the call center on Friday and the rep said they are still determining some of the winners, so maybe! I'll keep praying about it. Thanx!!!!!

I applied for the loan forgiveness program as a new grad NP in August. I just heard last week that I received the award. I don't know if there's a different process/administration for the scholarship vs. the loan program, but it took about 9 weeks from application to award notification.

DeeVee12 I attend school in Louisiana. I'm in an accelerated BSN program and I won't be finished until the fall. Then it's boards & off to job hunting! Time is going by sooooooo fast!!!! Where are you located?

Did everyone get the email hrsa sent today about the stipend payments?I received an email saying we shoud receive payment on or about the 10th. Has anyone already received any payments as of today?

I am wondering if anyone who received the scholarship in 2008 knows how much taxes they take out of the stipend payments? Or anyone who is knowledgeable. I am not sure if we have to pay federal taxes separately.
