2012-2013 HRSA Nursing Scholarship Application

The application process hasn't even started yet but I didn't even find out about last year's scholarship until a couple days before the deadline. I did get my application in on time but was not fortunate enough to be a recipient. I intend to apply again for the upcoming scholarship. Any tips from those that were accepted? My EFC is 0, I'm in an undergraduate program, and my GPA is 3.4.

Congratulations! What was your Applicant ID #? Sounds like you were a shoe-in with a 4.0. That's amazing!!!!! I start my first semester this fall at NYU and could only hope to get that high of a GPA.

I think you are the only one who actually got the official letter. It seems as if everyone else, including myself, have not yet received the final letter. :( Lucky.

oh OOPS! Lol! I didn't even notice it said NHSC. haha. My mind read HRSA. I guess you can say i'm super anxious and trying to be patient waiting for the official letter. lol :nurse:

That's true!! There are many options besides this one so try and be open to them (check the DOH site). You just never know what kind of opportunities you might miss by being too focused on something else. The stipend is a big help but just remember that HRSA does not offer deferrment for returning to school (at least that's been my experience). Some of you will want to continue your education sooner than later and won't have that as an option if you're in repayment working FT somewhere. I feel for all of you and I know times are tough but you have all gotten this far so I canot imagine this being the end for anyone on here. If you don't get it just know there is something better waiting for you!!

I'm accelerated too!! Yay- I dont know anyone since I just moved here. I'm kinda excited to start but have gotten spoiled relaxing all summer and I know things are going to get crazy busy.

that's what mine is saying, but of course it still has that part above that says "not guaranteed yada yada yada"

My app # is 26602 and I received the first email. My status is "accepted award."
