    Nursing corps scholarship 2015-2016

I really advise everyone to look at the HPSA scores for facilities in your area/ or where you would be willing to move. It is much more limiting than you expect. I live in a very big city, and expected more opportunities, but that was not the case. I did eventually find a job in my city without having to move, but it was extremely difficult.

    Nursing corps scholarship 2015-2016

Congrats to the recipients this year. I am a past scholarship recipient and I remember how overwhelming this is.

    Should I do more??

Ah ok- I see now. That makes more sense! Sorry about that. Yes def try and see if there is a better opportunity once you have passed the NCLEX-RN. Sounds like this place is not going to be the best fit for your future.

    Should I do more??

Since you have not yet taken the NCLEX, you are not a nurse and shouldn't legally have any nursing duties. You aren't a nurse.
  5. Woo! Stipend and ORC!
  6. I missed it too. I have class today. So please share if they said anything exciting.
  7. I went to the bursar's office with my paperwork around Sept. 20th...and they sent the info to HRSA on the 24th. HRSA posted the money to my school on the 26th. I feel really silly because I hadn't even followed up on it- I did not expect them to refund the money for a long time. When the check came, I was shocked and I logged onto my bursar's account and saw the dates everything happened. So, it makes me feel a little relieved because it seemed very quick and organized. I have no idea when to expect our first stipend payment. It would be great if it was this month, but I am telling myself it could maybe be the beginning of November because that seems to be what happened last year.
  8. Just to let everyone know, I got my refund check today from my school for tuition from this semester. I am going Monday to talk to my school to find out how to go about paying back and canceling my loans. I am super happy this part of the process has gone by smoothly.
  9. That seems to make alot of sense based on the bits of info we have all gotten. That being said, I think we are all kinda hoping that the ORC was more individualized. Who knows what our schools sent! I have a feeling alot of us spent more than what may be reflected. This should be very intetesting.
  10. @kpnh10: I am not positive, but you can try that 'ask a question' feature on the portal and ask to speak with your representative. I sent a question through there and received a reply from my rep. I think the people who field those questions have access to our accounts, and could be able to pull up your rep/ or send the email on to them.
  11. Disturbing!!! Thank you for solving the ORC mystery....How would we get the info of what the school provided so we can see if we were shorted?
  12. Ok, so here is what I know: 1. The 1800 number cannot help us. I called yesterday and the man I spoke with told me they don't have access to our accounts and that we should either email the HRSA or click on 'ask a question' through our portal. He said all they can do at the 1800 number is read us the information we already have 2. We all seem equally confused on how they get our info for ORC. It seems that other people (like myself) were told by the school they don't bill for that. I sent them an email about this issue to HRSA and received this response : "NSP already has the ORC information from your school. The pre-determined amount will be paid to you in October with your (Jul – Oct) stipend. You do not need to submit anything at all in order to receive this payment".....I don't know if that is just from MY school, or if somehow they already have ORC info for everyone. 3. I have no clue how they got my ORC- the woman from my school definitely did not give the HRSA that info...so maybe HRSA is finding out our ORC some other way ? 4. There is going to be a webinar in October. They will email us the time and date. We can ask questions during the webinar. 5. This is extremely confusing. 6. We are all terrified that something is going to get screwed up between our school and the HRSA and our money will go away before it ever comes haha
  13. Pearlgirl: I am super jealous haha! That's awesome that you found someone super helpful! I used to have bad dreams that the scholarship would fall through. Now I have bad dreams that my paperwork is going to get messed up somehow...
  14. Has anyone had any luck with taking the paperwork up to their school? I took my invoice information in, and they called me a few days later and said they needed the official award letter. So- I sent that over this morning. The woman who I spoke to last week said she called HRSA and they said they would also send the school some other paperwork directly. So I don't really know how long/ complicated of a process this will be. I am a bit nervous because I go to a huge school, and I don't know if I am going to be lost in the shuffle. I still have no idea when/ how they will get our ORC amounts. Eeekkk... I am just eager to do what I can to get the process going but feel like I don't know what all to do exactly.
  15. My email came from a woman from HRSA (maybe whoever is assigned to me?) and it just said basically that here was the attachments and that there would be a webinar in October to explain things in more detail and we would get an email later with the date and time for that. There was an attachment of invoicing instructions to give the school (the same info as the link posted a page ago) and an attachment reiterating our service obligation. So, I assume there are probably several different 'caseworkers'. I am sure whoever you are assigned with will be emailing you soon. The 'from' was just by her name- not from the 'no reply at HRSA' that we usually get, so just be sure that you keep an eye out for any unfamiliar emails. I am not sure why those attachments were not also available on our portal-seems like they would want to link it up there too.
  16. Ok whoa. Now I'm confused already. I am just now home and able to read through these emails in detail (as soon as the invoice one came through I hightailed it from class to the bursar's office). My 'welcome kit' (with invoice instructions) that it states is available on our portals came in email form...not on my portal. Is that the case for everyone else or am I blind/ missing a link? Is that all we need to be doing right now? How do we report the ORC?
