2012-2013 HRSA Nursing Scholarship Application

The application process hasn't even started yet but I didn't even find out about last year's scholarship until a couple days before the deadline. I did get my application in on time but was not fortunate enough to be a recipient. I intend to apply again for the upcoming scholarship. Any tips from those that were accepted? My EFC is 0, I'm in an undergraduate program, and my GPA is 3.4.

Is the website down for anybody else? I can't log in...

Just checked, yes there is an error when I try to log in. They're probably updating more statuses for the award.

Oh, I forgot in my last post to share my stats:

GPA 3.92

nursing GPA 4.0

accelerated BSN

from Texas, but attending school in NY

I am sooo nervous/ anxious/ hopeful for my 'finalist' status to become official recipient once the paperwork is in. Good luck to everybody- it will be a long weekend!!

I got to school in MO and I didn't get an email... :( It's looking to not be in the cards for me because of my GPA. I will hold out hope though until 8/31.

I am in Maine, going to University of Southern Maine.

I was previously a Peace Corps volunteer and I think that helped as well.

I wonder if how long you have left in the program weighs into their decision. I'm in my last year/semester, and I think that may have played a role in receiving the scholarship.

They told me they take that into consideration last year when I called... Congrats soon2be!!! :)

I am also in my last year!! I have fall semester starting 8/22 and then capstone in the spring! Wahoooo!!

Yeah, that makes sense due to funding issues.

I'll have my fingers crossed for you and others on this board who are still waiting for good news!

It's the best feeling in the world to be almost done; I graduate in December. We're so close!
