2019-2020 HRSA Nursing Corps Scholarship

Updated:   Published

I can't seem to find a thread on the latest round of Nurse Corps Applications, So I'll start. My initial point is more of me venting, but guess I'll ask - Should I even continue with my application? The new cycle and FAFSA wants us to use 2017 tax info, but in 2017, I was preparing for school and was employed full-time. Now that I'm collecting pennies and in dire need of assistance, it looks like my EFC is almost 8000. I can rarely work in reality. I'm really disheartened and confused as to why the FAFSA is set up like that.

Is anyone else experiencing this?

So.....yesterday I had several emails back and forth with a Senior Management Analyst from the Division of Health Careers and Financial Support. They were requesting that my college make the seal visible on my enrollment verification form by the end of the day yesterday. (I have already submitted confirmation of interest last week).

So the registrar sent it to him, he wrote back and said "I am 100% sure that Rebecca thanks you more." Now when I log in, there is a roles drop down in the top right hand corner that wasn't there before?!

Getting nervous ya'll!!!

All they had to do is shade the seal with a pen or pencil that's what mine did.

what does it say, Participant or Applicant

What does the drop down look like? Idk if I have it.

Thats nice that your registrars were so nice!! I had four days from my finalist email to get the seal turned in and the lady at my registrar said “yeah lots of people need seals and they’re all time sensitive and all important so not sure if I can get it done for you.” I go to a small school... I had to get the provost of the school involved to make her sign it.

This scholarship has taken years off my life lol

I’m with you. Keep your head up fellow future nurse! What matters is that you get there not how long it takes!

Still under review! I have already dropped one class and if I don't get it then I would have to take a break from school. I just called and he said to wait till September 30th for the final decision. My classmate got hers and was wondering if they can give it to more than one person in the class at the same time. Anyway I really do wanna have faith that I will get it but it's hard to sometimes.

Your classmate already got her official email of acceptance from the program? Or did she get the confirmation of interest form?!

Do we know that Jamie King is the secretary, because if so then the countersigning would mean we got it, no?

Not exactly. Plenty of people just last year got to this step (where King countersigned the contract) only to be dropped off the week of September 24th. When called, HRSA told them they “ran out of funding.”

You would think that they would fix it this wear

I’m not convinced tbh. Granted, in just 1-2 more weeks we will know. It’s been a long-awaited moment of catharsis for all of us. Hopefully one that ends in tears of joy, not shell shock.
