2019-2020 HRSA Nursing Corps Scholarship

I can't seem to find a thread on the latest round of Nurse Corps Applications, So I'll start. My initial point is more of me venting, but guess I'll ask - Should I even continue with my application? The new cycle and FAFSA wants us to use 2017 tax info, but in 2017, I was preparing for school and was employed full-time. Now that I'm collecting pennies and in dire need of assistance, it looks like my EFC is almost 8000. I can rarely work in reality. I'm really disheartened and confused as to why the FAFSA is set up like that.

At this point I am not freaking out anymore. I made sure to apply to 3 other scholarships and keep searching for other options. I know I won’t get this one, so I started working on other plans to finish school. I had to dropped my semester ??‍♀️??‍♀️??‍♀️ I just can’t understand how it takes 4-5 months to review a application. I think anytime someone don’t make the cut they should update their status on the portal so we don’t go crazy all this time. I was really depending on it, I have no one to help I absolutely do everything on my own. Anyway good luck everyone!

Getting super nervous.

I got a total of $23.40 back from student loans after my tuition and all was paid for ????‍♀️???

I travel back and forth from school, which is an hour away from my house, 4 days a week! I work part time at the hospital right now, so my checks are less than $100 every two weeks.

Just spoke to the call center and they mentioned some people had heard that they received the award ? I’m a finalist but going a bit crazy here. I had called to ask when funding is sent out after notification but they didn’t know the answer. Does anyone else know?

How are people being notified of getting the award?

Phone call, email, or a letter in the mail?

I just called and they said that that sort of information is not released and they do not know the soonest the people will start receiving information but that we will know by September 30. Everybody don’t worry! We got this!!!!

I much rather they take their time and work out the figures so they don’t go over and not give it to people who have their hopes up.

yeah guys some of us may hear something tomorrow, while others may hear something next week. If you call they will just tell you the same thing, the call center only answers questions about the application and generic questions about the scholarship. You honestly just have to wait it out and check in with everyone on here. They legit sent stuff out on the 30th lol

As far as updates none yet. I'm still "under review". I'm still patiently waiting. If I don't get it, well I'll just try again next year but I'm not dropping any classes AT ALL! I also I want to say congrats to the people who have gotten updates and signatures. Best of luck to everyone!
