I can't seem to find a thread on the latest round of Nurse Corps Applications, So I'll start. My initial point is more of me venting, but guess I'll ask - Should I even continue with my application? The new cycle and FAFSA wants us to use 2017 tax info, but in 2017, I was preparing for school and was employed full-time. Now that I'm collecting pennies and in dire need of assistance, it looks like my EFC is almost 8000. I can rarely work in reality. I'm really disheartened and confused as to why the FAFSA is set up like that.
Is anyone else experiencing this?
I found this online about the budget for the scholarships
Yes, I believe emails are still going out. I called on Monday and asked "so, if a person has not received an email at this time is it safe to assume we were not chosen?" The rep stated "no, not at all. Emails have gone out as late as 9/30 in previous years. "
It's frustrating though since that is super late and most of us are starting school late Aug/ early sept.
Got my finalist email this morning. Guys keep hope alive, reading back on other forums from last year this process is not easy and will take time. Students were getting emails as late at September 20th. So keep hope alive ?
Also for those who are finalist, is anyone confused on filing out the W4?
Hi! I received a finalist email on July 30th, turned in my W4 and verification the next day! I just got a credit check today. If you haven’t received an email yet, remember that you deserve good things and good things are coming your way!!!
I’m in a BSN program if anyone is wondering. I’m a junior, I have a 3.2 GPA, but at my community college I kept a 3.7 and was VP of our honor society. I volunteered teaching kids to read in schools, educating kids at the boys and girls club, and I grew up in an underserved community. I also volunteer with a developmentally delayed young man. I’ve been an LPN 4 years now. I live in upstate NY. My EFC was 0, I had to go from full time to per diem my first year working as a nurse to get financial aid. I have no kids and live at home so, it was an easy decision. A tip on the W4, don’t fill out the employer portion at the bottom.
My credit check was from credco.
