I havent seen a thread yet on this year's nurse corps application cycle & my anxiety has made me start one. I'm finishing up my application and should be done with it by today. I know its extremely competitive so honestly I dont think I'll get it but its worth a try! Who else has applied/is applying?

I was having trouble with the other lenders as well. If you have a cosigner try College Ave, I tried Monday and was approved with a cosigner.

I haven’t either! I think our deadline was a little earlier than the deadline last year. So I’m anticipating late July the absolutely earliest.

I had a quick question. The way its looking like I will possibly have to delay applying for entrance to nursing school until Spring 2022. I will finish my associates in nursing in Summer 2021. When does the cycle open, every January? So I won't have time to apply for the scholarship for January 2022? Tia

The cycle usually opens around March/April every year

How do you guys think the COVID-19 pandemic will affect the scholarship?? For example, do you think there will be more or less recipients?? Or will it be unaffected?

I think it may be less funding due to them having to pay more to get help to contain the virus. Have you logged into your portal what does it show? I don’t see anything.

Hi!

I’ve worked under federal grants before that were under the Department of Health and Human Services. From my experience, the money is already allocated by September of the year prior to a program start date. That being said, unless the feds pulled money from it to put elsewhere, which I don’t think they have as they’re allowing states to respond how they may, then the money is already allocated and approved to be used for the program. I checked my status earlier and it says “under review” still.
