Hello everyone, This is my second time applying for this scholarship and hope to get it this time around. I got accepted into Pace nursing program fall of last year but because of lack of funds I had to postpone it for this fall. My overall GPA Is 3.4 and I have EFC of 0. I submitted my application today and now the waiting game begins:nailbiting:. Wish everyone good luck!!!!
Hi! CONGRATS TO U! I am still "Under Review" which means I didnt get it! I read the program-guide again and it does say "Winners will be notified no later than 8-31-14, so if u got it on Sept 9----you prob are the last! LUCKY U! I have accepted my defeat by now but I wish they would tell me WHY? I have EFC of 0 so it had to be another reason! I will try again next year! CONGRATS TO U AND THE BEST TO U IN THE FUTURE!
Hi everyone. I have been reading this thread for a while but couldn't remember my password so i couldn't leave a comment. anywho, I called and emailed the helpdesk and was told over the phone that they are still processing applications and making final decisions. I was told via email that we have until THE END OF OCTOBER (wha?) for final determinations. This is WAY different than what is said in the application packet.
My anxiety has been skyrocketing ever since i started reading this thread; I used to check my app status everyday but now I only check it once per week since it continues to say Under Review. The two women that I talked to said not to lose hope since there is still plenty of time, but I gotta tell y'all, I have very little hope left. I haven't read nor heard from anyone from Indiana that has gotten it. Oh well...my semester started at the end of August, I am slowly making payments, but this would have really helped me out on so many levels:scrying:.
Congrats to those that have received it and good luck to us that are still waiting.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but I asked about the status of the application process (and if we would get a detailed reason as to why we didn't get the scholarship) last week and received this response today,
NURSE Corps Scholarship Program has awarded and funded all selected finalists for the 2014 scholarship year. Due to high number of applicants, we do not provide applicants who were not selected a detailed reason why. The application selection and review process is performed by an independent review board made up of at least three health care professionals. These volunteer reviewers are separate and independent from NURSE Corps and HRSA. When they are reviewing the applicants, they assign a quantitative score that is averaged between the three reviewers based on GPA, two letters of recommendation, essays, and CV. NURSE Corps receives these scores and initiates funding from the highest score on the list down, until we utilize all allocated funds. Hope this helps.
I was able to get my school paid for with a little extra (by the grace of God). I hope that everyone that didn't receive it was able to find other avenues. Never give up hope! The only way that you ever really lose is if you quit. Good luck to all in there school and careers.
Oh that is not good at all. After reading that, I re-emailed the HRSA help desk about the scholarship. I was told this time that the deadline is September 30th, Not the end of October like I was told before...I guess there was some confusion with the scholarship and the loan repayment program. I was told that those that do not receive the scholarship would get an email but not really a reason why they didn't get it, and that as long as you haven't gotten the "I'm Sorry But You Were Not Chosen" email, you are still in the running.....which sounds great but I know, as I'm sure y'all know too, thee is a VERY slim chance at this point that we will get a "Congratulations!" email
Just an added thought...

At this point I just want my answer either way so I don't have to think about it anymore....
I agree with you.
