It's pretty cold here in Alberta today. The temperature is about 5 degrees F (-15C) with a 15 mph (20 kph) wind, giving us a windchill of -11F (-24C). It has been snowing most of the day. On Saturday we got about 8 inches of snow during the overnight-into-morning period, followed by several hours of freezing rain. Then in the late evening it warmed up to the mid 30's and a lot of the stuff melted. By morning the temperature was back down around 14F (-10C) and the streets were skating rinks. Our driveway was more like a bobsled track, being 80 feet long and sloped. Now that several vehicles have packed down the fresh snow it should be REALLY slippery tomorrow. And lucky us, the winter's just beginning... we have four more months to go.
Usually I hear the cold weather men and women describe the Montreal Express, but now I have you Jan to take for the Alberta Clipper and it is only a pale shadow of what your weather is. My temperature is now 6 F . I hope my car starts in the am.
When is the next flight to Florida? ..... Better yet I have a son in Arizona, perhaps he wants his mother to come visit......

I was thinking about the Caribbean!
I am going for a month in march so i might look into nursing in the Caribean where we don't have ice storms (like tonight in PA) or snow up to my wheel wells!!
Well, it's sunny and in the 80s here in Hawaii!
All year round, same ole thing...once in a while, in the winter it might be a little cloudy though. (Are you jealous yet? :chuckle)
But honestly, all this talk of snow is actually making me jealous! Nothing says "winter" like slippin' and slidin' through the streets of Quincy, Mass!
I especially miss the snow around Christmas time.....
Weather here in Nova Scotia is a bit up and down. Yesterday couple inches of snow but also a lot of blowing snow so thicker in some places, with wind chill (very windy yesterday) -20 but rain is forecasted for the rest of the week with slightly warmer temps.
Not saying one of my dogs enjoys the snow but took this picture yesterday afternoon

I want to thank you for sending the Alberta Clipper over here in Boston. We had our first snow fall and this am the temperature at my house was 8 degrees F. I realize my Canadian neighbors have had this weather for several months.
How are the new nurses from topical climates holding up? I don't see them posting to often here. My son who is living in Arizona made sure he took his winter coat home ( he was not going to do that, but had second thoughts when he was home a couple of weeks ago).
