I seem busier now than during the school year!! All the things I put off until I "wasn't working" have caught up with me. That an volunteering at church camp a couple weeks and taking classes, WHEW!

I am enjoying my time, though and realize just how spoiled I am that I have time to do all this over the summer. Hope you're all having a great break!

just started in school nursing in march, so just as i was really getting into the swing of things... summer break!

i've been working on life-threatening allergy guidelines, updating our med admin guidelines, need to learn powerpoint for my back-to-school inservices. i have girl scout day camp next week, and i've been "bonding with" (referreeing) my kids.

thought i might be able to pick up a few shifts at the hospital through a pool, but we really don't have "all summer" off, do we?? so, i'll just try to make it to the pool as often as i can!!:yeah:

ps- glad you got rid of the louse, praiser!!!

PS- As of Monday, my windows are sparkling clean!!! Ahhhh- summer!

I´ve been in Peru since June 14. I´ve been spending the last ten days playing around with some Qéro Indian shamans in the Sacred Valley of Peru. Few more days and I head into the Amazon to work for nine days with some jungle shamans. Way cool!:yeah:

I was just thinking of you all!

I "tried" to get a summer job and then realized that EOW stinks! So I have been hanging with the most awsome person...my daughter! & visiting every park we see. Today the Zoo! Tommorrow the possibilities are endless. I have to work, but this is the life! I am so glad that I am sticking around.

I applied to grad school...we shall see...

Oh and bootcamp (not the real one, but the one with the stay at home mommies at the park district) is kicking my booty!

& praiser...I loved the louse!

Warning SAD story twisted! We are nurses so twisted is fun! Please Do NOT take offense and if you are I will say I am sorry!

When I worked in the hospital we had an elderly man come into the ED and he was neglected by his family. He was so sweet all he asked for was a sandwich. He was covered in lice and maggots and bed sores and urine and feces and other assorted yuck! It was the most pittiful thing EVER! Our supervisor asked if we could spare an aide or 2 (I worked MS at a VERY small hospital!) to bathe the man. Of course we wanted them to go...I worked with the most awsome TEAM! So we wanted to do something nice for the 2 who spent over 2 hours with this man caring for him in the most respectful way. We bought them dinner and made them buttons....one slogan said, "I am NITrific!" & the other "MAGGOTnificent!"

I always think NITrific as I am checking little heads!

Have a great rest of summer!

This has been the most relaxing summer for me in many years, I have decided to retire as of next Jan 5th !!! So I didn't do the school district's summer program and I feel so free. We've been to Pennsylvania to visit our daughter and family ( 3 yo grandson and 3 month old granddaughter) and we are going on a cruise to Burmuda (second time) in two weeks and then we'll go back to visit the grandbabies again before school starts at the end of August. Just knowing I'm done in six months makes going back to school feel so stress-free. Our kids start back on my birthday (8/26) which is the first (and last) time in my whole life (I'm about to be 68) that I'll be in school on my birthday.
