How are you staying calm?

I am applying to my nursing program next week! I think I have a good chance of getting in, but I am freaking out already, knowing acceptance won't be sent out till April. Anyone else out there in the same boat? How are you staying calm while you wait?

I'm nervous too. I should find out the beginning March and while its really not that far away it seems like forever. I'm trying to not think about it and focus on the classes I'm taking not easy though.

I finished all of my courses besides the nursing courses. I wish I had some homework to distract me! I never thought I would say that! I wish you the best of luck!!

Use these last weeks before class wisely to give yourself a head start. The world of nursing is a whole way of thinking and a vocabulary that is in English but has meanings that are subtly different. Grab a textbook and start learning what we mean by "nursing process" and "care plan." Start memorizing some of the Latin terms you will need in pharma class. YouTube is a great resource.

I will be turning in my application in the next few weeks, and won't know until later in May. Right now I am keeping my focus on the classes that I am taking now which will be used in determining my gpa and how many points I get. Since I am taking microbiology lecture and lab and the one Nursing class that my program has you take before you even get into the program pharmacology, my focus is on doing well in these classes and not so much on worrying about getting into the program itself.

I find out mid march, and I basically am too busy to worry too much right now. I'm taking 10 credit hours, working two part time jobs, and I have two kids and a hubby. One of my kids is in a medical program that is pretty intense, so I really don't have much time to worry. One thing that I have done when I have time to really think about it, is to plan how to celebrate getting in. I have a few items I want to buy for myself once I get accepted.

Keep busy! haha I'm in the same boat and I think if i dwell on it too much I'll go mad!
