  1. I just got accepted last week as well! I look forward to hearing about your experience! N
  2. I got the call today that I am in! Not sure if anyone is following this thread, but if you get in to let me know!
  3. The program I am applying for will only accept scores from the past 2 years, and you have to take it at that particular school. They won't take scores taken elsewhere. I would check with the programs you are planning to apply to, to make sure you won't have to take it again. I would also wait till you take your prereqs, they will only help!
  4. I'm turning in my application tomorrow and I'm the most nervous. I have all A's in prereqs (except B+ in chem) and a 90.7 teas but I don't have any idea if that will get me in or not. I talked to an advisor and they seemed like it was fine but I can't find any other info on my program. Find out in April. Hopefully we will all get in! Good luck to everyone!!
  5. I didn't do as well as some people on here, but here is what I did. As a side note, I took the test after taking all my prerequisites, bio, chem, A&P I and II, and statistics. I also have a BA, so I had taken english composition. I am not sure if I could have passed the test without taking all of these courses. I wouldn't suggest taking the test without at least completing your science and math prerequisites. First, I bought the ATI study guide. I wish I had bought it with the online practice tests, which I ended up buying separately. I read the study guide, cover to cover, and took the practice tests in the back. Then I freaked out, because I didn't do that well. I did fine on the math section, but I had just finished my statistics course, so I was confident in this section. I really decided to focus my study on the science section. https://allnurses.com/teas-exam-help/how-i-passed-804222.html I used this post exclusively for my science studying. I went down rainbowvahmet's list of topics and made a study guide of each item. For the most part, I used videos from Khan academy. I also went to google and youtube, but really, almost everything I needed was on Khan academy. I spent about 2 weeks making a study guide, and spent about an hour a day reviewing for another 2 weeks. Then I bought the 2 online practice tests from ATI. I was blown away at how different the reading and english usage sections were on the online test compared to the book practice test. I scored a 79 on version A, and an 84 on version B. I was disappointed, but it was at least passing. I needed a composite of 60% to be considered for my program. I did not like that the practice test scored the items as you go. I really really really really really freaked out in the science section of version B after getting 4 wrong in a row. I think I would have done better had I not panicked. So I had 1 week left before my exam. I went back and revised my study guide based on what I got wrong on the online practice exams. I kept reviewing about an hour a day. I went into the test pretty calm, and felt ok after the reading and math section of the test. I felt like I bottomed out on the science section. The english usage section had some sentence ordering questions that I hadn't seen before, which threw me for a loop. I was so nervous after I finished the english usage section, I accidentally submitted it before I had a chance to review. But my score popped up and I got a 90.7%! I think it is really important, no matter how confident you are, to buy the online practice tests. On my first attempt at the reading section, I answered the question based on the instructions on how to open the article, rather than on the article itself. I felt really silly, but at least I did it on the practice and not the real exam. I felt much more confident at least knowing how the exam was going to be presented. Take the practice test, figure out what areas are weak for you, and do all that you can to prepare on those areas. I never thought I would do this well on the TEAS V exam. I hope this, admittedly rambling, post can help you prepare and do as well, or hopefully better, than I did!
  6. Program Type: ADN Adjusted Individual Total Score: 90.7 ATI Academic Preparedness Level: Exemplary Mean - National: 64.3% Mean - Program: 64.9% Percentile Rank - National - 99 Percentile Rank - Program - 99 Reading Adjusted Individual Score 92.9% Mathematics A.I.S. 96.7% Science A.I.S. 85.4% English and Language Usage A.I.S. 93.3% I thought the online tests were amazingly helpful. I found the questions on the study guide practice tests weren't really like the questions on the actual test.
  7. I finished all of my courses besides the nursing courses. I wish I had some homework to distract me! I never thought I would say that! I wish you the best of luck!!
  8. I am applying to my nursing program next week! I think I have a good chance of getting in, but I am freaking out already, knowing acceptance won't be sent out till April. Anyone else out there in the same boat? How are you staying calm while you wait?
  9. Thanks for responding! I really hope I can get in. That is my plan! To hopefully do the RN-BSN at NIU!
  10. Howdy! I have been following these forums for a while, while doing my pre reqs, but this is my first post. I was wondering if anyone had gone to Kishwaukee College in Malta, IL? I know they accept 40 in the fall and 40 in the spring, but do you know how many applicants they get? I have searched but I can't find any info on that. I have a 3.8 science gpa, a previous BA with a 3.0 gpa, and a master's degree in art that proved to be worthless lol but I had a 3.9 gpa. I know I could do an ABSN since I have a BA already, but I cannot afford any of the programs in the area, and am tied down due to my partners work. I am taking the teas in 2 weeks, and have been studying my butt off so I hope to do very well on that. Anyway, rambling, but if anyone has gone there and has any advice or words of encouragement I would appreciate it!
